I knew it ! I always thought my car was special. For those that are unaware I had Ferrari of Newport Beach obtain and install a replacement windshield last month. Worked out beautifully. Apparently now they are letting me know that my car is due for service and is a very rare 308..........maybe the only one?

So come on ! Not one comment about a 2011 308 ? And then coming from a Ferrari dealer ? And then knowing that my 35 year old car needs scheduled maintenance ?

Yawn. Such exquiste service is soo passé. I recently got an email pointing out that my "1987 BMW 325i is due for its 216,000 mile manufacturer recommended service." Silly me didn't even know there was a 216,000 mile service. Dealers keep on top of things now; not like the old days when letter writing involved fallible human beings.

At least now you can show the letter when people say you're nuts calling your 308 a 2011 model.

Don't forget to put the letter in your history file, it worth something!

That's what happens when "form letters" meet automated databases (with errors). I thought my Mazda dealer was the only one who did those messed up form letters.

Be thankful your full name doesn't appear 200 times on the letter...:)

The modern cars require so little routine service Ferrari has now proclaimed their dealers as the foremost authority on the vintage cars as well so their old business model of top heavy service departments have something to do. Their display of knowledge is impressive.
Ask them if the mechanics are as old as the car.

Wonder what the CarFax will say about a 2011 Ferrari 308?
