    Thanks for that, only now reading up about Greg, he seems a wonderful craftsman. Over here in the UK we have people like GTO Engineering who can recreate a 250 swb for you, but Greg certainly seems to be the go to guy over there!

    Interesting that Greg has the correct race hubs on the TR wheels, but then plated them.

    The FIA can award an HTP (Historic Technical Passport) under Appendix K rules as long as the car is period correct, that is it's mechanical parts, suspension and brakes and so on are as used in period. Whether said car is accepted to race at any given event is up to the organisers and scrutineers.

    I believe their thinking is that as the original cars become older, more valuable etc then less owners will race them, and certifying replicas will allow that type of racing to still be watched and enjoyed.

    Plus most of the originals are triggers brooms anyway :)

    I suppose that makes sense. In the end though it is still a replica. So it is almost like having fake Rolex papers for a fake Rolex.
