    Hi,

Yes, it was really like a dream come true. That Karussel and a couple of the tighter curves were where I noticed the weight of the car (ca. 1700kgs, roughly the same as our XJ8) but otherwise it was very smooth running. I'm no racer and I was surprised how easy the car was to handle, it just kept a chosen line. Of course I must have been very far from any limits, but it was perhaps better not to find the limits on a maiden lap. :)

    Cheers,

    Pekka T.

Very nice pics!!! And beautiful cars too!

I also have a black Maranello and a blue Maserati. And in triples they are even better :)
Sorry for the bad quality of the pic.

Yes, I do! These are my daily drivers. I drive one for a couple of days and switch then to the next car. So you never get bored of a specific car. I do about 20 000 kms per year with the three together.I will bring the 512 TR to the shop tomorrow for the belt service. And take the 575M from the shop where they did the belt service and a respray of the front spoiler.

There is nothing better than to drive these cars (nearly) every day :)

    Welcome!

Interesting pairing. I have a 456M and a 308 GTSi because I like to have one V12 and one V8. Why did you get two V12's?

    Cheers,

    George

If one V12 is good, then two must be better :)

I only have one and a half :-(

    Hi Markus,

Is the Maserati really that much slimmer, or is it just a bit taller and the wide angle lense does the rest? (Things near the edge appear wider) Ok, the Testarossa sure is wide, and perhaps even the 456/550/575 are a bit wide too. The difference just looks huge in that shot.

    Cheers,

God I love the dark gray on this car. Whats the name of it? Grigio titano or something? I love it as much as Nart blue/Blu Pozzi.

George- I have been using those photos of your 575M with the Hamann PGIIIs for years. Had forgotten who owned her. I think Mathew has a set of the PGIIIs for sale. Those and the Novitec NF2s are the most attractive aftermarket wheels for Maranellos to me.

Pekka – The Maserati is slimmer than the Ferraris. I just checked the specifications:

    Width
    575M: 193.5 cm
    512 TR: 197.6 cm
    3200: 182.2 cm

While the 512 TR is only a bit wider than the 575M, the 3200 is really much slimmer. This is even more impressive because the 3200 is a four seater, while the F-cars only take 2 persons.

Also the 512 TR is not so much wider than the Maranello. It looks much wider because the back is more square while the Maranello’s back is much more rounded.

The cars are in a garage with an elevator. The Maser fits easily into the elevator where I have to check with the F-cars that the mirrors don’t touch the elevators doors.

    Thanks Matt!

I have seen in your profile that you are a student and are dreaming about a 512 TR.

I also had no car when I was a student and I guess I turned 25 or so when I bought my first car (a Renault). Took me a long time to earn the money to own a 3200 and a 575M many years afterwards. It took some more years until I also could afford a 512 TR too. I always had big respect of this car because of the maintenance costs.

Now I must be one of the luckiest guys to be able to own and drive such nice cars. Every day I can drive one of my Italian ladies is a good day.

It's absolutely worth to complete your studies and earning money by hard work.

I wish you all the best

    Markus

+1 Patience, hard work and the occasional lucky break. Early on, I settled for less exotic, but still interesting cars (MG, Austin Healey, TVR etc.), until I could afford more up-market makes (Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Porsche) and finally Ferrari and Maserati, but the first Ferrari didn't come until I was nearer 60 than 50. I hope you don't have to wait so long, but if you do, it will be worth it in the end.

I recollect one of Enzo Ferrrari's quotes: "I make cars for young men that only old men can afford". That may not be entirely true today, but it still has a certain amount of truth in it.
