This. And, while the NASA thing is cool, it's nothing new. Just a different, and far more complex way of doing it. The Wright Bros. even patented wing warping as used on the Flyer.
Will- Yup, and the Wright patent helped push the development of ailerons. Not that anyone paid much attention to the patent. Except the Wrights, of course. They wasted their technical advantage chasing patent infringements.
I didn't know that, but very interesting twist in the evolution of control surfaces. Funny how we keep flying full circle. Maybe someone will point out the evolution of winglets and demonstrate how they were on planes as far back as the 30's.
