The word is old, but still very much in use today for some specific kind of headgear, usually in wood or cotton. Our Canadian cousins call this "Tuque". Think of the Commandant Cousteau, who wore a famous red one... And in French, the "t" at the end of "Bonnet" is mute. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonnet_(v%C3%AAtement) Rgds
And then, as we know... Baby, back Dressed in black Silver buttons all down her back High hose, tippy toes She broke the needle and she can sew Walking the dog I'm just a walking the dog If you don't know how to do it I'll show you how to walk the dog Rgds
Well, as a friend's wife told me one day: "the day when he'll stop thinking of this is the day I'll really get worried". Rgds
No tool kits? Or was that one HK-chinese buddy of us Kudos to you Bruno for knowing german sayings Best Martin
Now here is someone who has got it spot on, i waited years to get an old Ferrari and all my gf said was nice colour- apart from that no interest in all the following years. Going out, bring the toyota dear.! Still together but still no interest.
Well, the ones I know are "altmodig"...like me. My grandmother used one often that I particularly like: "Wegen die Dummheit kämpfen selbst die Götter vergeblich..." Rgds
Umm it's my car and as a girl I always laugh at the 'chick magnet' threads here so when someone sent me this pic of my car with all the guys around it, I just thought it was funny ( yeah, I know I have an odd sense of humor...)
Nope...there is always the question that (still) crosses my mind fugitively when a chick is looking at my car, and that should work for you as well: perhaps their attention was towards the driver? Rgds
A buddy's wife once said about her husband who owns many cars. "The only way I can get Jim to pay attention to me is to slap a license plate on my ass". We were in tears. She is very attractive, has a great sense of humor and is a car person.
Now flip this around - My wife doesn't care much for the cars. But she LOVES the attention she gets riding in one. I don't have the heart to tell her they are oogling the car with their beeps, thumbs up, whistles and waves.
We have just picked up our new puppy and all I can say is after taking her for a walk down the same street I drive the QV there was no comparison. More people stopped to stroke her than didn't, someone even took a photo of her. Whereas when in the QV a few people point and smile. The breeder told my boys if you want to pick up women take the dog for a walk. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
A few years ago I posted about a guy who pulled up next to me at the lights. He offered to swap his wife for my Dino. She was really nice too and while I was considering the deal the lights changed and negotiations were suspended. I think that backs-up the d**k magnet theory. Waz
