I am happy to report that, after 8 months of sleepless nights, Piezo has ended my despondency by discovering for me two beautiful N6GY spark plugs cellophane wrapped in original boxes. Harmony in the Universe has been restored. I may display them on my fireplace mantle until my wife shoos them into my toolkit.
Another variant of the "Factory generic replacement tool roll", part #123254 is here: Ferrari 288 308 328 412 512BBI Mondial QV Testarossa Factory Tool Kit 123254 New | eBay Different screwdrivers again... Rgds
Finally got my last wrench today to complete my tool kit. I was missing the 10-11 Everest 22. I can't believe myself I paid a total of $175cdn with all fee for a cheap used small wrench. I would have had a nice Snap-on kit for that.
Claude, congrats! Individual pieces are always more expensive, and shipping from far away is costly too.
Yes but that was the last piece and in the long run I think I did good. I now have everything from wrenches to jack kit with all the little accesories like the window crank and trouble light. Same with the books and pouch. Thanks a lot for your help. You're a better watchman than me!
Another 85 window crank on ebay. Not cheap (but make offer option). First I've seen since I bought one back in the spring. No affiliation. Ferrari Emergency Door Window Crank Handle Tool 308 Gts Ferrari | eBay
I have a extra very very nice T handle emergency crank for $300.00 shipped. Looks like its never been used.
Ma no, Signore. The Good Book of Parts, Chapter 44, Verse 11 sayeth, Thou shalt have'eth two "candele d'accensione (CHAMPION N 6GY)" wrappeth within thy valigetta porta attrezzi. I shall sleep peacefully yet again tonight.
Same seller same price and it's the early Z-shaped window crank. I suspect they are from the jack kit set that was for sale earlier that having both these cranks, just a guess though. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ferrari-Emergency-Door-Window-Crank-Handle-Tool-308-Gts-Ferrari-/272434847351 Another crank listed, possible the one for sale earlier on FChat as well. Says its for boxer and mondial, even if truly so I doubt that Ferrari will made a different one when everything else shared. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ferrari-512-Boxer-Mondial-Emergency-Window-Crank-/122215915598
I bought pretty cheap a tool bag. Some strange thing in it. Hence some questions for the specialists. I want a set that is correct for my 84 QV or, if that is not possible, a set that is correct anyway The bag is original with the 'Fiocchi Italy' marks in the studs The toolkit is missing the sparkplug wrench. I know. It has 8 different wreches:22/20mm, 19/18mm, 17/16mm, 14/14mm, 13/12mm, 11/10mm, 9/8mm and 7/6mm and a spare 10/11 mm and 6/7 mm. The wrenches are 3 different kinds. Some have 'Chrom Vanadium Kravm' on both sides (22/20, 19/18, 17/16, 13/12, 10/11 and 6/7). Others have 'Chrom Vanadium Kravm' on one side and 'Ferrari' on the other side (11/10, 9/8 and 6/7). The 14/14mm wrench has 'Chrom Vanadium' on one side and 'Ferrari' on the other side. Questions: 1)Which is kind of correct? 2)Is the 14/14 mm wrench correct or should it be 14/15mm? 3)Or is it typical Ferrari to make a mess of it and is this set correct? 4)The pliers has 'ferrari' on one side and 'Kravm' on the other, both in black. Is that correct? All thanks for your comments and ideas. Regards, Bart from Belgium. * a 14/14 mm wrench in a QV tool roll is correct indeed; it is called a "combination wrench" in English. The eyelet is supposed to go on the spark plus tool, which is missing in your tool rool. However, the one you have is not a Kravm as the other wrenches are, but probably an "Utema" (let's wait Piezo's opinion on this) * Usually it would be better if all your wrenches were from the same serie, so marked exactly the same way, and the typical markings for wrenches of this period would be "Chrom Vanadium Kravm" on one side, "Ferrari" on the other. Utema wrenches do exist however, but are more rare. It seems very probable to me that the wrenches in your tool roll are of three diferent series and put together afterwards, not an initial serie from the same tool roll. The pliers are probably from a later period (= 1990's) or a replacement from the factory; usually, the pliers for the late 308 QVs tool rools have "KRAVM" on one handle, "Ferrari" on the other, but in white. And you are missing the spark plug tool (mandatory) and the emergency window crank (not always present in the late QV tool rolls) If I may give an advise: * The first thing to do is to buy the 21mm spark plug tool for 14mm plugs, because no QV tool roll is correct without it. * then, standardise the wrenches on one single design, preferably the most common "Chrom vanadium Kravm" on one side, "Ferrari" on the other; note that it will be difficult for the 14/14 combination wrench which is very rare nowadays... * the white script pliers can wait until you find a pair correctly priced; the "T" handle auxiliary crank also. Well, you may want to look at my post #438, which shows the usual combination of tool kits for 308s. I agree with nerofer that the wrenches seem to be a mix of 3 sets. The Kravm wrenches have 2 types as already noted by nerofer. The 14/14mm you got is from another set that all have "Ferrari" on one side and "Chrome Vanadium" on the other side and have the parallelograms. The Kravm wrench set has its own 14/14mm that is also marked Kravm. The N 1200 Utema 14/14mm shows up almost exclusively with the blue handled pliers kits. The screwdrivers and the pouch are definitely period correct for your 84. For the pliers, I've seem many kits with both Ferrari/Kravm marking in both black and white colour (with white seem to be more frequently found indeed) and black anodized tip, that I tend to vouch it is correct for the 84 or 85 QV. There was the same type of pliers with silver chromed tip from the 90s thru 2000s though. For the spark plug wrench. There are a couple of sellers from Italy seem to have located (genuine I hope) a number of them for sale on eBay in the pass few months, none at the moment that I can find though. They were snatched up pretty quickly and here is a sold one from one of the sellers: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252529363732 Window crank for 84 seem to be leaning towards T type more. Very pricy so good luck.
This set looks familiar? Exactly the same as the last set shown in my post #438 but in better condition it seems. Note the pliers are the same with black colour letters and the wrenches are the same type as your 14/14mm. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Ferrari-308-Quattro-Valve-Original-Tool-Roll-/142181280962
Steven, You've noticed that the pliers illustrated above have the "round cut-out for the blades" in the beak, not the rectangular one? That design seems more rare, and I wish I could understand if it corresponds to something specific... (I know, I know: I am NITPICKING, I am SPLITTING hairs in four (or f***ing moths, as we say in French) and I should see a doctor for acute "toolrollis", but...) Rgds
