    Hi,

Having bought a barn-find UK RHD '79 GT4 six years ago, I was told recently to sell it or strip it to a shell in order to repair it and prevent any further rust (if that was even possible!).

I took the brave decision to strip it! I had a fair few panels made by Superformance and the bodyshop is currently in the process of replacing these.

Unfortunately, Superformance are no longer able to re-manufacture the front wings or door skins.

I have tried to source from Maranello Classic and many Ferrari specialists in the UK but no one seems to be able to help.

I'm specifically after a passenger front wing, driver's side outer door skin, and a windscreen scuttle panel.

If you have either of these for sale or know anybody who has, please let me know!

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Andy,

Thank you. I tried Ferrari Spares but they only have a GRP version - may end up making a metal version from it.

In regards to the second link, I've e-mail them but if they supply Superformance (I believe they do) then they have had panels stolen and are no longer able to produce my required panels.

    Cheers.

It usually possible to repair what's there rather than replacing the whole panel.

My guys made me a new boot lid as the original one was stretched beyond reuse.

Good luck with the project - post some photos.

When I restored mine many yrs ago. I fabricated my own repair panels for lower front wings nr A posts. I believe that a fiat x19 has similar arch profile. A good body man can fabricate most things. They are not complex panel designs on these cars

Marenello should have the US front wings in stock ( they had loads when I was their last year) you would need to modify the front of them but it would be better than nothing!

Unfortunately, it's not possible to fix what's there, there isn't much there and what is.. is rotten.

Maranello do not have any UK or US wings now, agreed a US one would be better than nothing!

Have you tried Eurospares.co.uk. If they don't have a new item they can usually supply a used part.

Eurospares are advertising that they are breaking a 308 GT4 on ebay right now: 1979 Ferrari 308 GT4 Dino Breaking For Spares | eBay

Breaking due to heavy rust but must be worth a try!
