A lot of people aren't familiar with the F1 transmission and don't drive it smoothly the first time they do a test drive in it. But, after the 2nd or 3rd time you drive one, it becomes second nature and the shifting is glass smooth and you can shift very quickly while accelerating or downshift quickly while braking for a corner. I used to own a black 2006 430 F1 and it was a wonderful car. Beautiful lines, plenty of power, lovely sound (especially if you leave the low RPM baffles open), and easy to live with. That appears to be a really nice, low mileage 430, in the classic red/tan color combo. Also, people should know that Sandy runs a quality repair shop with a good reputation and he's very active in the Ferrari community. I believe he is the FCA Chapter President in his area. GLWS. .
I could be wrong but I always thought that Sandy was Wil De Groot's wife and is a "she." I would love to be corrected if this is not the case. To your point, I haven't heard anything but great things about the De Groot's, their shop, and their FCA involvement.
Looks a stunning car but as others have said, what a shame these things aren't used! We've today (Friday) just got home from a 2480 mile Euro road trip from Oxford through France & Spain to the Valencia MotoGP round, then looping back up through France again. The car was stunning, didn't miss a single beat, was comfortable, fast, frugal (well, sort of!!) & got a fantastic reception wherever it went. The owners of these garage queen cars (sorry, I hope it's not offensive to use that term?) don't seem to know what they're missing! Get out there and use them boys (& girls!)!!
LOL, you are, of course, correct. Not sure how I got Sandy and Will's names backewards. Hopefully Sandy forgives me. .
Ha! No worries. Thanks for the thumbs up! Hope to see you at the shop sometime, or at an event. Yes, Wil is serving a 2 year stint as chapter President. Will take the opportunity to plug the FCA for anyone who has not joined. Great people, great events, great cars... FCA Penn-Jersey | Ferraris were meant to be Driven!!!!
Have the headers been replaced, aka exhaust manifold issues? Exactly what service records does the car have?
We have been taking care of annual service for the past 3 years. The car is driven a few hundred miles a year. No, no exhaust manifold work performed to our knowledge. Maybe you are thinking about the 355? Not aware of issues with this model. Solid car!
Does the Original Owner have service records prior to the 3 years that you have maintained it? Would you be able to have a PPI inspection done at an authorized Ferrari Dealer prior to sale? Will the paint work be corrected as mentioned on front hood? Any other dings, scratches, etc?? Does it include the Ferrari battery maintainer and OEM Ferrari car cover?
Hi Steven, Sent you a PM. Yes, no problem having a PPI inspection performed. No, the owner has not been able to locate his earlier service records. Will check if the battery maintainer and car cover are OEM (I think not, but will confirm). There are no other blemishes on this car. It is immaculate. The paint issue on the hood is very minor and would escape the casual eye. Likely be corrected without great expense (wet sand/buff).
Steven, Yes, it comes with OEM Ferrari car cover, 2 seat covers and steering wheel cover in a bag (called a 'car protection kit'). Does not come with a battery tender. Our bodyman looked the car over and said the paint on the hood would take a few hours to correct (remove hood, wetsand, buff, remount hood). I repeat, it is not glaring defective paint on the hood. The car is 10 years old, the hood could benefit from wetsand and buff for anyone interested in participating in a concours. Image Unavailable, Please Login
$110k shipped to Los Angeles, upon a satisfactory PPI conducted from a Ferrari Dealer. Let the owner know.
The price for this very low miles (under 4,000) well maintained, very good condition Ferrari 430 F1 is $125,000. We can supply screen shots from a scan tool showing clutch life, any codes stored (none) in the car's computer. There are no stories about this car, accident free, freshly serviced. For about $2,000 you can ship this Ferrari coast to coast. Ready for Christmas and year end holidays. This is a rare find, a super low miles Ferrari at a decent price. In the Spring this car will be long gone. Now is the time. Msg me. Thanks, Sandy
Don't want to be a smart ass but the car has been on the market for over a year and has NOT sold, should tell you something about price. I think the lack of Ferrari Dealer service history is a big deal to most, hence don't want to take a chance on the car. Lack of Daytona seats is a biggie as well. The imperfections on the hood do not help either. What do you guys think on the forum? Opinions please.
I think it is priced right for a great super low mileage car. Wet sanding the hood is nothing- I just had my entire car wet sanded just prior to sale (shipping) and it looked so brand new I didn't want to sell it (but I had an agreement!)
BTW this is ORIGINAL owner and only 3,600 miles- what do you think- he didn't keep up the maintenance? Pleeease! PPI's can be very revealing - if you are really interested invest. I think you are not and you are just trying to beat down the price. Cars selling for less than this have reasons they are selling for less. I know because I just bought a one owner F430. JMO
I think if I haven't bought mine a few months ago I would of gotten a PPI on this one and drive it back to my house which is 40 miles away
Here's my honest opinion: 1) $125k for a 2006 sub 4k mile is unreal. Yes, it is a low option car but if you like the colors and options, you will never find anything even close for the money. 2) Wil and Sandy's shop is as good as any Ferrari authorized service shop in the northeast. The fact that is has "a lack of Ferrari Dealer service history" is meaningless. Besides, service is a perishable item. With a car with so few miles, what you really care about is recent service, i.e. the last few years. 3) Lack of Daytona seats aren't a big deal. They used to be a big deal and now they're kind of ho hum. You can't complain about the lack of Daytona seats for this kind of car at $125k. At $150k you might have someone listen to you. 4) I don't know the imperfections on the hood that are being discussed but if the hood can be buffed and wet sanded and the imperfections removed, that's all you need to know. All in all, I find $110k absolutely insulting to the owner, let alone $110k shipped to the opposite coast. I think that $125k is a pretty great price and the buyer is getting a steal at that price. If I were to guess at the real reason it hasn't sold: red on tan with a plain Jane tan interior (no black carpets, no carbon, no accented anything), just isn't that enticing, even if the miles are super low. The good news is that it doesn't have the stupid options on it that no one wants or needs. Regardless, for $125k that's a super fair price. You just need to find someone who wants red on tan.
$110,000 for this car delivered would blow the 430 market to pieces. $125,000 for a no story 3,000 mile 430 is more than fair.
