I thought I'd post this here specifically for the Mondial guys.

Many of you have seen the old barn find thread in the european section on the 2 dutch Mondial racers.
It looks like these cars have finally come up for sale. Although they can't be considered "important" cars in Ferrari's racing history they are certainly a part of it and it will be interesting to see what happens to them.

    Hi Simon,

The cars are Belgian, not Dutch. Just a small detail ;) (allthough part of Belgium speaks Dutch they're entirely different countries)

As for the ad: a bit suspicious. I wonder if they're really for sale and if the cars are indeed mechanically fine as the ad claims.

These cars were owned by a very dubious man called Jean-Pierre Van Rossem. He was involved in lots of corruption cases here in Belgium. He only drove Ferrari's but never owned one. The cars were owned by his fake enterprises like Moneytron (Cool name though). As for the cars, I don't know what they went thrue, but I wouln't trust it one bit!

THAT SELLER SEND ME JUST THE SAME EMAIL !!!! Yesterday ....

So, I'm waiting for the moment, but as I was thinking since the beginning, I think it's fake....

He used the pictures from internet...

He didn't reply on my mails since 3 weeks to visit the cars... !!!

And I know one of the old racers from Moneytron, who told me where the cars are, he asked to the owner to buy the cars for me, and he doesn't want to sell them...

AND why does he put 4 time the same cars for sale.......

Seems very shady--but then again, the whole history of the cars is based in shadiness, so it shouldn't be a surprise.

Regardless--the barn find pic is really cool--I love barn finds of any sort. Shame that the parts are so hard to source.

I'd think cars w/ that much of a story/history are well-worth saving. Seems like a shame to part them out.

I was making a project with some friends to put them back on track.... no problem...

BUT as I told before, it's fake....

I made everytime the best offer, until somebody put a bid of 250.000 euro for them....

So : there is NO buyer and NO seller dear people.....

Its a bit like the Essex petroleum turbo Esprits.
A scandal at the time, but now the most sort after edition by a long way.
Part of me admires these schysters.

I don't get it...I mean yeah, it was driven by Keke...but it's not like they won..heck they didn't even finish the race. And Moneytron is not something one should be proud to associate with.

    250K? - Very ambitious IMHO.

It was on sale last year by a Belgian dealer (oldtimerfarm.be) for around 85.000 euro for the pair. Apparently a French dealer bought it and tries to sell it now...

The Brussels classic car expo was filled with investment funds trying to sell their extremely rare investment cars like Ferrari Dino's, Group 4's, Daytona's, Porsche Speedsters, ... There were many of these funds selling cars at high prices, which gives me the impression that they have the urge to sell their investment cars because of levelling or even lower price expectations.

Most high-end cars are being bought by funds and even banks. I heard that Deutsche Bank has a huge collection by now containing dozens of Porsche and Ferraris. But I spoke to a dealer I know well yesterday and he confirmed that only cars above 100K were selling, almost no cars under the 100K level.
