Hi All, is this the correct internal rear mirror for a 76 ROW 930? Porsche Parts Rear view Mirror, 911/912/930/914/912E (69-77)
I am making slow progress on my newly acquired MY75 that was originally in sonderfarbe "Tombac Metallic" but needs to be re-painted. I have determined the code for the tombac metallic as L99K, a 914 color available only in 1975. Car just entered the body shop. Now we are in the paint stripping process Sooner or later I will have the problem that the car is missing the original kunstharzlack tag in the door and will need to reproduce it. The big question is: what was supposed to be stamped on such a tag if the color was not a 911 or a 930 color, but a sonderfarbe from another VW car? The car currently has a "replacement" door tag with the code 747-9-3 on it, but I believe it is just a bad way to make reference to the black color it was repainted into, at some time in the past (700, 741,747 was for some years the code for black). Below are samples of what the original color tags for tombac metallic look like on a 914: Image Unavailable, Please Login
The 911/930 would have used a Porsche paint code instead of a VW. I'd search on Pelican and see if you can find any references to Tombac Metallic. Phil
Thanks Phil, but I have spent substantial time perusing the internet about this info without much success. Copper Metallic, another definition of Tombac Metallic was introduced as a 911 color only in 1978 with code L95D, if I am not mistaken, but I have not been able to find a door jab tag code for this color. After having exhausted my capabilities, I turned to the deep knowledge of this community in hope for some help.
I feel your pain- I own a 77 with a one of one PTS color. I do however have paint tag but have not been able to locate any further information. There is a paint and body work forum on pelican parts. I'd put up a thread and see what happens, some very knowledgeable folks that post from time time. Phil
My interior is being done in Austria by Bernhard Lagler, who was recommended by Dr Konradsheim and known to be a perfectionist. He was able to locate the original "gelb" leather for the interior and an original piece of matching carpet for my 75 with special wishes interior. This will go great with the gazelle wheels and gold graphics. Always exciting to see all of what makes the cars special come together. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It is going through a full nut and bolt restoration leaving nothing overlooked. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Warning This post is regarding a stolen vehicle 9305700023 This vehicle was stolen from a underground garage near Stockholm in December, by a Dutch Car Dealer. Car has never been paid for and the owner who is in his 70’s is very sad about the situation and want’s his car back. I am helping the rightful owner locating the vehicle, any info will be rewarded ! The insurance company in Sweden has been working slovely with the police on this, but we hope to be able to get the puzzle sorted out by tracing the paper and money trail, as it’s rumored that the car has changed hands 2 times, and ones via a major dealership in Holland. However it will help finding the location of the vehicle to confirm this theory. In the spring of 2016 it’s been reported to have been a complete 75 turbo in Holland where the vin was removed, it could possibly be this car, and any info about the owner of the 75 without the vin is appreciated and valued. Please contact me directly at [email protected] A freind has informed me that 9305700023 was the press vehicle of Switzerland, so it’s very sad that this car has suffered this destiny. Any help appreciated and please get the word out so that this vin can never trade hands again, and help os locate either the vehicle, or the dutch car with the VIN removed.
Very sad news! Sorry to hear about this historic relevant car to be stolen and possibly damaged. Was the car still in black color when it was stolen? I recall about an Italian trader that had a couple of 930 for sale back in the spring and they were allegedly located in Holland. One of the two was a 75 ... I may be able to dig-up some contact info. No idea if this could have anything to do with this particular car you are looking for, but it may be worth to give it a try.
