Not sure if you guys have seen this yet but Sammy shares his BBi with Jay, the one used in the video in the 80's for "I cant drive 55" fun to watch. I have also included the video where you can notice that they also use a 308 for some shots when you do not see the whole car, not sure why?

Interesting. In the music video he has 4 cromodora 15x7.5" rims on all 4 corners rather than the TRX's. (Not to mention the 308 they sub in for whatever reason). The narrow wheels really show from the rear when he's being chased by the cops, the rear wheels are offset in too much and too narrow. And the external gas tank door lock on the clamshell was early 82. He needs one of my diffs!

I loved Jay telling him not to rev it so hard when he started it!

Saw it on TV. Anybody got a link for the entire video, where Sammy gets arrested, and Jay smiles and drives his car home?

Also, Sammy sez he got the car to 180. Yup! That'll get the cops upset. :)

He must mean Km/h. No way that car is doing 180 mph.

I did watch the show, typical Jay schtick at the end with the cop. But who cares it was nice to see a black BBi out and about.

Call me nosey, but it would be great to mark his VIN in the Boxer book Registry. There are a couple 82' Nero/Tan's listed assuming it's registered in California.

It's likely they only had the car, Sammy Hagar, and the band for the shoot dates.
When they went to edit they either weren't happy with the footage they had or decided they needed a little bit more/a couple of insert shots.

Easier to do one day of pickup shots with an available substitute that most (not Fchatters) wouldn't notice as being different than to have to coordinate schedules and wait for the Boxer to be available again.

Hilarious to go back and see that again after all this time. Thanks for posting the videos.

He sold out of his tequila company years ago.

    The car he kept. :)

Yes, because he is a driver, collector and connoisseur ; not a prospector-collector. :)

That is why I have always liked him, plus a very down to earth guy!

The last time I saw it, the drivers seat was so bad it looked like rats had attacked it.

Guess he had the interior redone, it looked great on the show. And yes, Sammy seems to be a super positive down to earth guy, a rarity in the famous musician world indeed! I first got into his music when he released Three Lock Box in the '80s!

Saw this today and wondered if there was a thread here about it. I think it's awesome he's kept it all these years and says it's still his favorite.

Would be fun to ask Claudio if he's ever replaced the diff. :D

Most definitely a very down to earth, grounded individual. When I was a cop in the Air Force I won a meet and greet experience and backstage passes to his show in Boston in 1997 IIRC. As soon as I mentioned my love for cars, after talking about why I joined the military, we went on and on for almost 20 minutes discussing cars. He asked more questions to me than I did to him!

I thought Sammy was a member here? He should send his BB to Newman for a full resto.
