Hello, I need some help with my decision about a used F12. Questions for the forum: 1) would you buy a F12 with 20k miles? 2) if yes, what is a fair price range for a fully loaded car? This would be my first Ferrari, so I am not perfectly able to be pragmatic since my desire for one is skewing my rational side. Thanks a lot for your help!
Sure why not, ferraris that are driven are usually better, just make sure you have all maintenance records and do a ppi. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
I take it the asking price is under $300K ? Ferrari's go many, many, many miles...The F12 is the bomb. Look no further for your first Ferrari or super car for that matter.
Can't go wrong with the F12. Although i do hope you have plenty of experience with high power rwd cars. The F12 is a very comfy and elegant car. But can turn into a raging beast in a milisecond. You have to respect it! If this is your first entry into a supercar, you could look at a 458 as a starting point. To your question, 25k miles is nothing for the F12!
I've driven the F12 and I realize the amount of respect that you need to have to avoid getting into serious troubles. I come from less powerful rwd sports cars. I have been considering a 458 spider but I have to say that the V12 has a sound that completely catches my dreams.
Then you probably need some F12 in your life! I've added an exhausr from Capristo to further enhance the sound and it is a no brainer to me. Never intrusive, it has a mute button and unlocks the v12 roar!
The car can handle the miles. The problem is the market place is very mileage sensitive. This really seems silly- until you think about it: if there are several cars on the market, most with 4-5k miles and then theres one with 20, I think most buyers simply gravitate to the lower mileage. So if you buy one of these cars with 20k, I wound't really be too worried about mechanical issues, but you need to be sure you are paying the right price, because when the day comes that you are ready to sell it, you will need to discount it relative to other cars on the market.
Completely agree with you. That is why I am trying to understand what a fair price for this F12 would be. As mentioned, I am new to Ferrari so not really knowledgeable of the market. It is hard to get those details since I can only see what's on the market now but I have no visiblity to what happened in the past. So, what would you say is a fair value?
Mine had 33k kms and was a 2013 car when we bought it. Its been perfect but we still purchased the extended warranty as insurance.
Sure! Here: 3-stage red paint, AFS System, Carbon Fibre Driver Zone+LEDs, Carbon Fibre Central Bridge, Exterior Sill Kick in Carbon, Carbon Fibre Cup Holder, Cruise Control, Carbon Fibre Wheels Cup, Leather/Alcantara Interior in Alcantara Nera, Carbon Fibre Dashboard Inserts, Suspension Lifter, Horse Stitched on Headrest in Rosso, Outer Mirror Black Insert, Instrument Panel in Strumentazione Colore, Scuderia Ferrari Shields, Inn/Out Mirror+Homelink, Parking Camera, Sport Sill Cover, 20' Forged Dark Painted Rims, Carbon Fibre Racing Seats, Racing Seat Lifter, Satellite Radio, Alcantara Rear Wall in Alcantara Nera, Leather Parcel Shelf in Nero, High Power HiFi System, Coloured Special Stitching in Filo Speciale Rosso, Tyres Pressure Measurement, completely wrapped in Clear Armor.
OK let me give it a shot. With 2K miles that's a well optioned car that would change hands at $280K ish give or take. That's a fair price sold privately; wholesale is less. Subtract $2 per mile and for a 20K mile car you get $240K or so.... Flame proof suit is now on.....
Thank you! It makes total sense. It helps a lot to understand how you landed on the price. So $240k could be 'the number'.
Post a pic of the car indeed. 240€ would be a very, VERY good price in Europe. Especially for a very tastefully specced F12. In the end of the day these are emotional purchases. So it's tough to put a certain price point on an F12. The market seems to pay premium for non-grey coloured F12's. These are dream cars, somfind the one you crave in the colour you want.
Would need to see pictures of in/outside and original sticker price. Would also need condition of tires/wheels, full service record, any mods - who did them and have OEM pieces, condition of paintwork and interior, number of owners, indication of how the car was used and stored (if you can talk to an owner(s)), number of keys, manuals, cover, charger, etc. Then, of course, the PPI result. If all was superb then likely more than was estimated. If asking price comes close to value then its a matter of what tugs at your heart. If not, then the right car will come to you.
There are two F12's on cars.com that have around 20k miles. 20k miles $279K 22k Miles $252K (standard interior...not many options). Maybe you can get close to 240K with a very low optioned car.
I do not have a pic but the car is perfect outside since it is fully wrapped. Interiors are really good with a few minor dings from daily use. Original sticker I believe was just north of $400k. Tires need to be replaced. Wheels like New since the owner used different wheels. Service record perfect and one owner. Car stored in home garage and used as a DD. All accessories included. What's PPI results?
You say 3 stage red paint. Thats probably a very expensive option. With those miles and the color, and assuming this is listed with a dealer (consignment likely) I would think this car goes for ~$275k. If you have more info it would be helpful.
Times have changed, Ferrari`s became very reliable for past two decades so millage is not main concern. But, like Caeruleus11 pointed out, high millage is big NO NO in luxury segment. Here in Europe you can find F12 Berlinetta with 20k miles on clock for $220k (Ferrari Stuttgrat have one on sale for that price), and we are expecting even harder drop on those when F12 successor comes out next spring. So, if you plan on buying F12 make sure you pick future owner scenario: - I am buying F12 as DD, I will put a lot of miles on that thing and I dont care for deprecation caused by a lot of miles on clock; - I am buying F12 from my friend, I know he took good care of car. I dont care for miles, since I will make under 5k miles per year, so when time for sale comes I will not have 60-70k miles on clock.
That sounds like the car which is on cars.com for 279000. If that is the car you're looking at my guess is it is closer to a 260 K car maybe even lower. But that car is so highly suspect and an amazing car that I think if you can buy it for 260 you're probably in a good spot.
