It would have been so easy for Nico to stage that today, especially in the closing stages, but he didn't - That says a lot about Nico and his ethics to Me!

Lewis should win another WDC at some point in his career, and he already has three to his name, but this may well be the only WDC Nico ever wins, and as with Kimi in 2007, I'm glad it's happened for him!

It looks like the results should please everybody:

    - For the Tifosi. A Ferrari driver on the rostrum, that doesn't happen often

    - For the Hamilton fans. Lewis wins a GP, so they can't complain.

    - For the Rosberg supporters. Nico gets his first well-deserved WDC, at long last

Hah. It was a brilliant tactic for Nico to go with. He fought tooth and nail all season, and those were ugly battles which could have and did wreck one or the other at any time. Nico wiped his hands of that once he saw all he needed to wrap up a title. If Nico were to push for wins the last 4 races he could have just as easily ended up destroying his car this his title hopes. Outstanding game of chess he played.

Ok LH did what he had to to improve his chances I could take that but after it was all said & done refusing to congratulate Nico has shown us the sportsman he really is.

Consistency and STRATEGY in the case of Prost. He was a very clever (4 time) Champion. Senna was faster and more exciting.

The only german bit about that car is the painted on star. Rosberg isn't popular in Germany (or anywhere). He's not really German, he's not really Finnish either. He is very much Monegasque

Off topic now... Hey OPIE from NJ, How's the XM Show? I like it. Any chance of the show with Anthony happening before the year is over? [Those who know the Opie I mean know what I'm talking about] :)

I'm pretty certain the star is a sticker, and it's from a British supplier too!

TBH, I think the only thing truly German in the team is Toto Wolff! :p

But Sir.. you comment on PROST implies that Prost was inferior to Senna in the talent department; when history, records, polls, countless threads, books and documentaries [EXCEPT the 2010 "SENNA" documentary] have proven that statement to be incorrect.

    Cheers! :)

You're right! - So there really is nothing at all about the team that is German - AND STILL THEY PLAY THE BLOODY GERMAN ANTHEM WHEN THE CAR WINS RACES!

Just like Senna did to Prost at Imola in 1989; And Senna lost the title that year too. :)

By the way, I'm not being a Senna or Prost fan boy; I'm just stating facts.

    cheers! :)

i agree. clearly he cares nothing for the team and was blatantly ignoring all 'instructions' from the team. instructions, per his contract, are to be followed. i know that's a sticky statement and racers are racers, but that **** was what a spoiled brat does on the playground. 'if i can't win, i don't care what happens'. what a ****ing child!! would love to see mercedes can his ass!

"Bloody German Anthem"...OK, I just can imagine what your fellow citizens would say if a German would call YOUR anthem "bloody"...
The money is German and if you are so proud of your British engineering I wonder why none of your rich investors at the London stock market buys the team and invests his money to "safe it for the nation"...You guys ran all your car manufacturers into the ground and were more than happy for German companies to buy in and safe the jobs but still we are the "evil"...

No big fan of Nico or Ham, but the pouting and refusal to properly congratulate Nico shows just what a **** Lewis really is.

Did Red Bull explain why they pitted Ricciardo so early? If he had been on the same pit strategy as Max he'd have been well in 1st place, or? Then Ham would have at least had an excuse for holding up Nico.

I don't think you are fair in your comments about Mercedes or Rosberg.

Both the team and Nico race under German licenses, and there is a strong German connotation in both. That's enough.

Most drivers don't actually live in their "country" of origin, for whatever reason.

Even Sir Jackie Stewart seen sporting Scottish tartan trousers and cap at the end of the GP has been a Swiss resident since the 60s, etc ...

Oh, and I am told that the "Dutch" Max Verstappen lives in Belgium !!!

What part of the Force India comes from the sub-continent?

Are the Red Bull made in Austria ?

You see where all that leads to ...

    +1! This says it all.

Nice guys finish last? Seems nice guys finish world champion and the talented yet spoiled jerk does finish on the top podium yet without any dignity, respect or credibility....once again. You can keep the winner trophy. Winning at all costs is a good trait to have. However, without respect, class or dignity...winning at all costs is empty and meaningless. So in essence, nice guys never truly finish last. Some say they would have done the same thing as Lewis. IMO, that's something then those individuals need to look at within themselves because like Lewis, they've lost the beauty of true sportsmanship. After all, this is a sport ;-)

Lewis has such talent and has had the opportunity to be such a brilliant shining star of this sport and actually be something so much more. Instead he continues to act in ways that overshadow any accomplishment he's ever achieved. It's sad actually and I hope he one day can mature and grow up. What great things he could do.

Congrats to Nico. Very well deserved. Congrats to Vettel today. Looking forward to a much more positive 2017 for Ferrari.
