When I own one it'll never come off. Perhaps only once, just to make a copy roof with a gurney bubble if needed
Awesome thank you! Always loved the F50, the Playmobil car for me! Unfortunately don't fit in it too well, the knees always touch the dash so can't drive it for too long! Image Unavailable, Please Login
How tall are you? Can you get the seat lowered, cushion modified (take cushion out and replace with thin memory foam), or a completely different seat made to your dimensions... Getting it fixed in place should buy you a few cm as well. On my BMW I modified the seat rail, the rear sits 2cm lower and 3cm further back and it created to much extra room it's not even funny, I now don't even sit all the way back whereas before I'd struggle massively, leg was between the door, steering wheel and dash, now no issues.
The 288 GTO has both the best room & visibility of all the Ferrari Supercars, a joy to pilot, I'm a tall guy and I can drive that one across the country.
I'm 6"2 about 1'88 cm. Yes I thought about but than I like to keep it original... Might get a spare seat a tweak it! I just hate driving uncomfortably! lol! Same with me! I just love the 288, it definitely is a car you can use daily!
Any decent shop will make it a completely reversible modification...keep your stock seat of course. It wouldn't be any different than changing wheels or exhaust. Good shops + trimmers can make it look as original as well. You'll enjoy the car tons more if you fit in it properly. Had hoped you where taller....I've been told by many (ex/owners, detailers, shops) that the F50 had more interior space for the taller person than the F40. Hopes are fading...
Which is part of its appeal. Don't get me wrong, they are all awesome and for different reasons, and that's the beauty of owning them all.
The fourth still exists - it was repaired in Italy and now resides with a collector in Europe. >8^) ER
Many very prominent experts of Ferrari history (you could guess the most known one) say that there have been built more than 349 F50s. The real number should be around 380-390 Sent from my Samsung G935F with Tapatalk 6
Do you know if the inside of the car was refinished? When I saw it in Monterey prior to DH selling the car the bare carbon panels inside were yellowing quite a bit. >8^) ER
Don't want to go off topic but wondered if you had seen this video ? I'm sure you know about the car and collection, all too well being Mr McLaren 👍 Collection https://www.instagram.com/the_collection1/ Video. https://youtu.be/fkt8yUrhpl4

I took my car to a meet outside London recently and a young spotter called Brandon asked if I could take the car to a nearby campus for some shots. These young chaps are amazing, no iphone pics for them, they carry around some serious camera kit. Here's a shot he took of her, I'm biased naturally but I adore the F50 to drive, she looks fantastic too. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Did you ever think of painting the headlight cluster to match the yellow body? Never understood why Ferrari offered it in black in some colors and body color matching on some other colors.
I think Ferrari perhaps should have offered it in only black as a unique headlight cluster styling cue started with the F40, and continued with the Enzo and the LaFerrari. That way there would be uniformity throughout the Ferrari Supercar range from F40 onwards. The black is clearly successful and you can see why it was brought back with the Enzo and continued with the LaF, it makes the front end look a bit more aggressive.
Joe, what was the logic for the black headlight cluster? Car color? Owner request? Thank you in advance, Xavier.
