OK so my 98 456GT has the old solution alarm siren and I can't quite figure out how to unplug it. There is a tab on the plug, I tried pressing, pushing, pulling on the tab but nothing will allow me to disconnect the connector from wiring loom. Feeling quite stupid now but does anyone know how to release the tab lock of the connector?

By the way if you also have the old style siren as I do, then you'll need adaptor cable #180072 to plug into the new version of the siren. I need the replacement as the old siren does not chirp when arm/disarm and has the dreaded red LED.

Here is a photo of the old style alarm with cast aluminum housing versus the new style alarm with plastic housing.

BTW I bought the GM Corvette siren for just $49 off eBay and the Ferrari OEM adaptor cable for GBP71 from UK. Corvette siren works perfectly with one chirp to arm and two chirps to disarm. And no more red LED on the dash.

Does the Corvette siren sound when the alarm is tripped?

Interesting, another data point. Several have posted that it will chirp and extinguish the LED but not sound when tripped. I want to say that was on a 575 but I'm not sure.

Thanks for the compliment but it's just plain 304 stainless. :D

Not entirely sure if it's purely the siren that causes this symptom. I suspect it may be related to the state of the alarm when the siren is connected to the system.

Seem to recall when I replaced the siren on 360 or 550 with new Ferrari OEM part, it didn't quite synchronise with the alarm at first. Had to plug and unplug the siren a couple of times and used the key fob to get it to work properly. Don't think I turned off the battery master switch at that time.

This time with the Corvette siren I did turn off the master switch before connecting, maybe this has something to do with it as well.

Hi cwwhk, I'd need to access the siren module in my 456 , could you please tell me how did you reach it? Removed the front wheel ? Thanks
