Thanks it would be great to give it a shot, the car was red when stolen. I hope someone in Holland heard or saw something, this could have been anyones car, I would have freaked out if this happened to me. Many thanks
Thomas, going back to my files from last spring, I found the following advertisement about a 1975. The person who I spoke to was an Italian guy (sorry I did not keep his phone number, or maybe he called me) and he allegedly had two 930 3.0 for sale located in Holland. I enquired about the 1976, but he had also the 1975. I got detailed pictures for the 1976, but not for the 1975. I have an e-mail, but it is a temporary address from the SUBITO website and I still have a full name (do not know if a real one) for the guy I spoke with. I also have the VIN number for the 1976 car and maybe from that one you can trace back also the owner of the 1975 ... If you are interested in the details, please contact me or let me know via this site and I will forward to your private mail. Hope to be of some assistance. Hi Rich thanks for the pics. Growing up in the peninsula I have fond memories of going to Carlsen. Stanford shopping center was also a great place to see some "winged" P-cars. On Friday we finally started to work on my MY 75. We partially dismatled the car and started to look for the original sonderfarbe below the black re-paint. A couple of discoveries, good and not-so-good: The car is apparently rust free and without major accidents. We found the original color in few places and confirmed that it is the tombac metallic as per the certificate. Oddly the car has been completely stripped of the original color on the outside body, before being re-painted black: no original color found on the outside. We found the original color below the black in the front trunk and in the engine compartment. I was surprised to see the black color over the original tombac/copper under the carpet inside the car. A couple of pictures. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi There Has anyone a picture for me from the inside of a 1976 930 and then from te front in the bonnet? In particularly the connections to the high pressure headlight washer and the positions of the holes for the headlight/fog light/windscreenwasher cables? I am a bit confused now rebuilding my 930 and wondering how everything has to be positioned.
Thanx a lot! Now if it is not too much too ask where does the connection from the high pressure pump to the windscreen washer reservoir below the fender go to? Directly through the side?behind the pump? And where does the hose to the headlightwashers go through the front of the bonnet? And last but not least a detailed photo of the connections/ wires to the headlight and foglight above the battery what is the order of the wires? Im in the middle of my compassionate refresh of my 930. I asked this before re my reddish interior color. My coa say interior to sample/99. My resto shop ordered 76 "red" seat covers and they are off. Too bright red. Last time i posted i was told by many experts here this looked like russett brown 2 reputable shops that deal in porsche interior s says they cannot find that color. Just need one more look by the experts. Much appreciated. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I believe it's just russet. Typically the special wishes interior were colors offered in previous years so I would start by researching those to match. The good thing is you still have the original interior so you can have them match it.
Chassis # 9306700102 may have originally had a 930/50 engine that has been replaced with a 930/52 (also note the 3.3 liter tail). Would have been nice to see a photo of the aluminum trunk plate to see if DGM is present. 1976 Porsche 930 Turbo 3.0 | Duemila Ruote 2016 | RM Sotheby's Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Has anyone ever seen anything that shows the aerodynamic performance of the 3.0-liter Turbo? E.g. drag coefficient and front/rear lift? Strange that I've seen it for most other Porsches, but not the early Turbos.

I'd like to know what the correct factory original application would be for a 1975 930? Bearing in mind that this is a pre-galvanized body car, how did the factory finish all of the undersides & wheel arches back in 1975? Any corroborated & educated input is appreciated! Joe, I'm interested in this as well- I've see two different finishes in wheel wells - one body colored paint like the white car you posted and some with black undercoating over body color. I've seen floors pans in several finishes as well, love to know what is correct. Phil
I've never seen the black finish in the wheel wells on any period Turbo photos (and definitely none at the factory)...I suspect this was something either done later in period or as some sort of dealer "upgrade". Not sure why it appears on some Turbos. Perhaps to deal with all the rock chips and was easier than ordering and respraying the original color. If anyone finds a period photo of this detail, especially one at the factory, please post! I'd love to learn more!
