I know Pumas were used at least during the QV period. Not sure if there was overlap or if Ferrari switched from one to the other at a specific time. I have a photo of a Puma from an 85 QV with the painted on logos and proof marks in perfect condition.

Glad to know from your extensive experience Brian!

My 82 QV used to have Puma and was swapped out with a FIM 2 years ago due to core corrosion. I guess I'll put a Puma back in when refitting all the insulation foam around it.

Nevertheless my car never had an overheating issue whether using old corroded core Puma or the current refurbished FIM. Fingers crossed the "new" Puma will be good as well.

Any more input from other owners, particularly the 80-83 era cars?

It would be interesting to narrow it down. I hope we get more responses.

Why does it say Puma Chausson? That means socks in French. And you see lots of Chausson motorhomes when you're driving around France. I'm confused. Did a French motorhome manufacturer provide rads for 308s when their traditional Bologna suppliers dropped the contract ?!

They are made in Spain. We know little more than that. General Electric is one of the worlds largest producers of jet engines and I see little reason for them to change the name to General Jet Engines. This only suggests the company's core business or maybe original business is shock absorbers.

Interesting to see the first overlapping of both type on 1981 cars. Keep them coming!

Alberto, you can contribute 3, nerofer can contribute 2 and BigTex 2 as well ;)

Turbo cars have a different radiator or at least they have it more angled forward and the top is concealed under the nose of the car: I cannot see anything from the front bay, or at least I didn't find any writing yet. My 308 at present is at the shop to rebuild the engine so I cannot check.

    I'm sorry

    Ciao
