So I take my Italia out of the garage on a nice warm winter day here in the south before cold weather sets in. It was 74 that day. I put like 96 miles on her that day.

Before getting her back home she gets a great detail job from my guy here. My car usually stays on the tender ect ect. Garage queen but I haven't had any issues after nearly 2 years of ownership. Routine 1,500 a year maintenance.

Its low mileage. Anyway my AHV light pops on and tells me something about the braking system. I call my dealer he says that's not a reset issue. I send my car up and here is the email I got back today.

"James as we just discussed the avh warning is caused by an engine system fault for the intake flap. Before we can isolate the faulty part we need to remove the intake manifold and disassemble it to get to the flap to complete further testing. once we have completed the testing I will contact you with the final estimate. the cost to remove, disassemble and complete testing of this flap issue will run $2325.00 +tax. If you would like us to proceed with the diagnosis please respond to this email with your authorization to continue. I will be in touch as soon as I know more. thank you for allowing us to service your Ferrari"

He told me it could be a faulty sensor, faulty flap or he said it could be dirty and just needs to be cleaned.

    Anyone had this issue?

Do you mean the car threw an AVHS code?

What exact errors did the car throw: just AVHS failure or more errors?

Yes AVHS code and airbag code he said the airbag code was just a reset issue not to worry about it. But the AVH code light came on.

Did your detail guy pressure clean the engine bay or wash it in any way?

Thought so, the airbag codes and AVHS codes come in pairs for some reason.

Your AVHS (Automatic Vehicle Holding System) is most likely completely operational
but if there is an issue with one of the airbags the car sends a AVHS code in tandem
with the airbag code, again don't know the reason for this.

Have the dealer check the airbag sensor's operation in the passenger seat and all other
airbag sensors and airbag operations: the errors the car is sending are most likely due to a
faulty airbag sensor or another issue with the airbag system.

A way to perhaps diagnose the source of the problem would be to have the dealer erase the
codes and see if the airbag code comes up again.

    Keep us posted!

Based on my experience, car with low battery level would have many fake warnings. I would only charge the car when I couldn't turn it on, had so many warnings about engine fault, brake fault, visit dealer blah blah blah. Once the battery is full, everything's gone. You said that you car is a garage queen. The more you drive it, the less problem it will give you.

Yes, agree with that ... we drive these cars far too little.

Get a real charger, and have a look then ... most of the times these faults leave then.

Ask the dealer to do so first, no use throwing away that amount of money for nothing imo ...
