Thanks - my mistake. Indeed the Pinin logo is on the side of the car!

It is, but I couldn't find a close up of my old F12 where it was visible, just behind the front wheel arch.

Was told today that they are being very difficult in Daytona about even the dealers seeing it and so rationing them to just the four foremost individuals in each territory, US may be an exception due to size. Apparently two launch cars, the red one staying in Italy......

Always amazed at just how good Ferrari are about maintaining such a grip on security with every launch, including the development phase.

ingegnere, thank you, that is an excellent drawing. I'm curious to see how close it is.

Merci Olivier. Yes I did consider ferr9000's observations, hence my comment:

"I can't imagine a single tdf-style cut over the rear wheels as was mentioned earlier other than it being like one slit, maybe angled in sympathy to the trailing edge of the quarter window."

Also, I am not really clear on his comment "an air intake which starts down just after the front tires and then goes up opening it in two different lines across the door panel", but what I've shown might be described as such, and is based on observations of the visible bodywork.

Also, M. Massini's comments about a new front, multiple vents and no flying buttress:

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/145034828-post256.html

Thanks again, and I miss Pininfarina too.

    +1

OT, but I couldn't miss this opportunity to chime in on a discussion about my pet peeve - black wheels.

If ever in doubt about the use of black wheels, consider that Ferrari always black out the wheels on their prototypes (especially when a new design) because it camouflages every detail of the wheel, resulting in a visual "black hole", as aptly described by Traveller.

Around my parts, we have plenty of cars with stylish wheels, especially at this time of the year when the winter tires go on ;-)

Thanks Ingenere ! I remember back in 2012 when you almost exactly predicted the F12 design and the FF one year earlier

THis is for people who don't know your skills

This was done month before the unveiling of the FF. Fascinating. You must have a kind of crystal ball

I am not sure that the sketch, as attractive as it is, represents such a pre-described much more aggressive and dramatically different bodywork from the berlinetta. I see this as a good thing but not really squaring up with the earlier sentiment. Perhaps some sharper lines and more detail in the front section will complete the vision.

Thanks again, happy I can share my ideas with others.

I got a lot of flack for the FF; "What? A hatchback?" LOL

This F12M, aside from the fact that it's an M of an existing platform is very hard to read even with the glimpses of exposed bodywork on the mules.

I alternate between thinking they may use cues from the F60 or TRS, but then I think they rarely re-cycle designs - the only think constant with Ferrari designs is change.

I agree - I expect to be surprised. Really can't read what is happening on the sides, for example.

I know what I would like to see, but need to find the time to do a proper sketch.

The rear fond window form and the rim styling, unbelievable...

Yes. And though I guessed wrong at the shape of the rear quarter window trailing edge, you will note that it actually predicts the shape of the more recent Lusso.

Im just an enthusiast owner like all of you.
There are people here who know a lot more, but I just tried to give you a general idea about the car because I know all the expectation about it. I will not give more details for respect to the brand we love.
More details are not far away though.

Ingegnere you are very talented for sure. Send me a PM.

I will asnwer some PM that I received after the post.

Earlier in this thread I had posted the following link about the structures of next generation of Ferraris:

Altair Collaborates with Luxury Sports Car Maker, Ferrari, to Develop ?Next Generation? Vehicle

Well, a couple of things I discovered today (sorry if already posted elsewhere):

    1. Ferrari's Director of Innovation and BIW Development mentioned in this story, Maximilian Szwaj, has left Ferrari for Aston Martin:

Aston Martin appoints new Chief Technical Officer

    2. Unless there's another person using his name, lives (lived?) in Italy and has 2 Ferraris, I think he is an FChat member:

Any news from Daytona? Are we typically expecting something for 12PM EST?
