Lauda found the perfect replacement for Rosberg... https://scontent.ftxl1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/15349671_1256584797731811_5288161544137487639_n.jpg?oh=1ff096d3f0061e5d3f7b5c5a2becedd7&oe=58B68064 Only Hamilton might be a little bit frustrated as Niki showed already some favoritism towards the new one...Toto said he will stick with Lewis intstead
Toto Wolff has basically confirmed that Mercedes are going to be Hamilton's team from now on, and that they are going to put all their efforts on making him the WDC as many times as possible. Anybody else going to Mercedes now are going to be a No.2 driver, either due to a natural pecking order based on ability, or team tactics, much in the same way that Ferrari operate these days. That makes sense for Mercedes as it will cause them far fewer headaches and controversies!
Me too, he is now higher rated than Werewolf. Jenson,Ocon,Bottas in that order of Toto's likely favourite runners. Jenson for one year while they continue to evaluate Ocon at Force India.
Why not Felipe Nasr? He did very well during 2015 and this year with a terrible car he was able to score Sauber's only points. How many millions will Sauber receive from Bernie just because they finished ahead of Manor? 10, 20, 30MM?? At this point, with no top drivers available, and reluctantly about to bring in Wehrlein right now, Mercedes could sign in Nasr.
As a stopgap driver, Nasr could do very well, until Mercedes sorts itself out and decides what to do in 2018.
Latest Ive seen from SKY F1 - 10:43 Sky Bet have installed Pascal Wehrlein and Valtteri Bottas as joint favourites to replace Nico Rosberg at Mercedes followed by Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso. Meanwhile, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has told Germany's Auto Motor und Sport: "We have our juniors. But there are other more experienced options. We will look at their contracts and then take a decision"
I hope it will be Alonso....Imagine they put in Wehrlein and we will see in the first test session next season that RB was not able to close the gap...then we will have a boring season of Hamilton winning every single race where he finishs...With Alonso in the same team we get at least an illusion of competition just like the last three years...
Suzie cant drive for Mercedes, Elton will have to fight with her every morning to use the ladies, and they will never agree on matching shades of lipstick
If Toto thought that handling the rivalry between Hamilton and Nico was difficult, he would certainly find that managing Alonso and Hamilton in the same team is near impossible. It would be foolish for Mercedes to try that combination. Mercedes isn't in this business to entertain, but to win and get a return on its budget. Mercedes needs to sign a Number 2.
When you haven't even won a GP yourself, and you join a team where there is already a triple WDC, I don't think you cannot expect equal status. It's a simple as that! Bottas should just consider himself lucky to drive a Mercedes.
Vettel says it ?should be clear? he?s not replacing Rosberg Vettel ruled himself out, sticking with Ferrari
