He's a legend in my mind for pulling that move without looking to see if the road was clear. No way I would have done that.

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good...not cool on public streets near others and their personal property!

'lucky' is right. barely avoided disaster/tragedy. utterly stupid move putting other lives in danger like that.

Err no, he specifically said stickier.

A guided tour of the 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 RS ? by the boss by CAR Magazine

'Stickier' does not equate to wider contact patch. And yes, they are exactly the same tyres. The reason the GT3 RS corners better is because it's lighter and has more downforce per kg weight.

There's no evidence of that from a same day test. We're also talking about bespoke Cup 2s here not stock off the shelf items. If they were so much better why didn't Porsche provide them as an OEM option tyre?

Already have, even asked on Twitter. Only d'Ambrosio responded and he gave a like.

Basically everyone provides the full lap these days, so when one production fails to do so it raises questions.

He definitely gave you that like to mess with you. The whole GT show is just reveling in how cleverly they have deceived us all. Good thing we have you here to straighten us out.

In this day and age who does a lap test without showing the laps? I mean, if we take that as a precedent it's a license to just randomly claim lap times.

Is English even your first language? He said STICKY not stickier! Stop twisting words around to make them fit what you think!

And no, they are not the exact same tires, one is ECO rated the other is not. Do you even know what's a ECO tire is?

Jumping the shark anyone. I really think Lieven needs to take them to court or the UN or maybe the ICC. How dare they........... Again, compared to all the problems in the world, why get so upset about three stupid cars? We get you like the P1, go and buy one and enjoy it because that is the point.

The main reason that Lieven is desperate for this info is that he wants to tear it apart to prove the results are invalid, his MO when his car finishes third.

If there is only a time shown, he cannot attack the results. But if he gets raw data, he will no doubt show what a poor job the driver did particularly with the P1 by analyzing every second of the lap time.

Yeah, but in news just to hand, it is just a car. And the conversation becomes really petty very quickly and accusations of bias because they are all so well matched that it is impossible to say one is materially quicker than another. Hell I would throw out the fact that IMO McLaren has never released information about their highly noted Nurburgring hot lap but then I would be stooping to the level of others AND ITS JUST A ******** CAR. lol

I'm sorry but for someone who is alarmingly obsessed with full lap videos, track telemetry and competent drivers you are an enormous hypocrite.

Have you seen the One:1 lap at Spa? The driver had never been to Spa before and it clearly shows. It also clearly shows that he isn't a pro racing driver, he might be familiar with the car but he isn't even close to its limits. He could shave seconds off the time in the braking zones alone and considering the granny driving round the traffic in the end there is no way you can take that lap seriously. Also, AFAIK they had to modify the exhaust because of the noise limits, so they weren't even running with full power. They also used the same tires as they had on the car a month or so earlier when they set the lap record at Suzuka.
Why do I have the feeling that you would have brought up all of these points + 30 different self proclaimed "facts" if the car in question had been the P1?

Yes there is. The Trofeo's are much stickier, period. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrLQpAt5Mes

Have you seen Top Gear, ever? They stop in their tracks and are genuinly bewildered when they realize that they have been serious about something.
Old Top Gear/Grand Tour are entertainment shows based around cars. It's not a 'Hypercar World Championship' broadcast.
The fact that you think that they should only show the clips from the best laps instead of the most entertaining clips/best footage shows that you have seriously misjudged the entire show.

Mycroft, Lieven, Macapologist, just cannot be reasoned with. Absolutely mind boggling how much he has 'invested' emotionally/psychologically that he has to 'win' and that P1 MUST be bestest, fastest, ever...for REALZ!

    Cause he works for McLaren.

    Enough said.

I popped by anywhere to engage him wherever I have some time to kill only.

He is a great time waster.

I am really not biased. IF I can go back in time, I will take a La Ferrari in half a heart beat, a 918 in a heart beat. Then I will take a 991 GT3RS. Then perhaps I might also take a P1, just for the resale value.

    Pointless to argue with Mycroft.

The Youtube video you posted has already been dissected and dispelled by him about the bias Chris Harris got with the tires.

The fact that the Trofeo R is 2 second faster than the Cup2 which is standard on the GT3 is pointless, he doesn't even see that.

All he sees is that Chris is faster in Portimao during his test in the P1, that's it. Chis is only credible when the P1 is faster, when Chris shows anything else, Mr Harris is useless.

Different day test. Just to put that in perspective, Motor Trend ran the ACR again on Laguna and the time differed by 3s.

And nobody really cares about those times because they're comparing Ferraris with Ferraris.
