Nicely stated. The couple things I have figured out that effect me as one who will never sell. Every time I increase the maximum value coverage on my insurance my rate has gone up. That sucks. I've done it twice. On the other hand the value of the car can be taken out of the car via financing and used elsewhere. The more valuable the car becomes the more that can be taken out. Minor things really.

In one issue of his show he bought 3 308s form someone local. Flipped two at low dollars since they needed restoration (or so was said on the show), sold the other to a Fchatter. Ferrairs of all values come and go at his shop.

Some of the most enjoyment is an old flathead bike that you manually adjust the mixture to make it up a hill. Talk about driver input. And they pee on your leg just to be friendly.

Thought you might enjoy this John. Wayne posted it on his FB page

I chuckle at the "no more specialized restorations" line.

    Ha!!

That F355 F1 Spider used to be mine. From time to time I like to track down the VIN of past vehicles. Boy this car sure made it around. I live in South Carolina.

I love how every place I've found this car listed, they mentioned how great of shape it was in. $50k was too much for this one!!

I got rid of it because the F1 pump would always heat-soak, then the F1 indicator would start to flash, causing the car to drop to neutral and leave me stranded until the pump motor cooled down. I KNOW the new owners eventually found this out.

Ferrari wanted to sell me a new unit which at the time was $18,000.00! So I got rid of it... in an honest way. I bought it from a Ferrari dealer and had this issue right off the bat. I know they knew about it but I couldn't prove anything. So.... a few years later, I traded it back to them for another car. Then later on they call me complaining about the issue with the F1 system. I simply told them "it has done that since I bought it from you".

Anyway, today I see that Hill engineering has an adaptor kit to install a 360 Modena F1 hydraulic assembly into the car. I also realize NOW that I could've had a place like GMP fab some sort of cooling fan system for the Pump motor because as long as the car was moving it was fine. Only when stuck in stop-n-go traffic would the pump over heat and drop the car to neutral.

Not my thing either, except I did own exactly one convertible, the top lifted off all by itself at 65 MPH in pouring rain......

Have owned many convertibles all my life. Probably 15 in total. Love them and will continue to do so. Nothing like open top driving. 355 with top down is an exceptional exoerience.

People always say how much they love the sound of a 355.If you want to hear a 355 at its best it's in a spider with the top down, a GTB can't compare.

    ^^^ Ha!

The buttresses/qtr windows/rear glass are some of the best lines of the F355 (and 348), totally absent on the Spider variant.

That's the nice thing about the 360 pump. That Magneti Marelli assembly blows!
