My 78 (if that is what you have) has a stiff clutch but is only really a pain in stop/go traffic. I have hard and stiff clutch now because the PO of my car had the clutch replace with the pressure plate from the Daytona V12. I had the car for ten years now and frankly, I've gotten use to it.
I had this problem also I run some thin oil down the cable below the pedal in the cable guide an it made a BIG difference, the are Teflon coated but sometimes the stick, try it you got nothing to lose Iused 3in one oil it comes with an extension nozzle.
My stiff clutch was because the release bearing was fitted dry and had eventually made a ridge on the input shaft....rubbing down input shaft to remove trhe ridge was only cure Unfortunately I dont have any pics
There is another cause of stiff clutch on RHD cars but dont know if the OP has RHD as no profile. RHD cars have a cross-shaft with two bearings which can dry out.
