    Hello Fchat members,

check out this F430, i would love to purchase it and become the winning bidder, but i have one problem, i cannot tell what options are original factory equipment, there is so much carbon my mind is blown!

I asked the seller, he said just the wheels are aftermarket.

that may not be the case because the stereo is not original and the shields are definitely not original.

Which leads me to believe there may be much more that has been done to the vehicle to get it to its current state, and none of it was factory original!

so i'm leaving it up to you experts to decide!

It's all aftermarket: easy to spot because it's twill weave not plain. I can't tell for sure but it looks like the shields sit quite proud of the body, so it may not be a factory shield car i.e. The fenders don't have the recess.

It all looks factory to me, with the exception of the cup holder, key and shields.

On second glance, I'd say the only factory Carbon option was upper driving zone

I got through the first couple of lines in the description and gave up . Whoever put this ad up should be shot . Car looks good but overdoing a description would probably change some peoples interest .

Well, looks like i will not be purchasing this car! any other opinions? or are we unanimous in our decision that everything other than the front driving zone is factory, and does that detract from the collect-ability of the vehicle?

Yea that ad sucks. (More on that in a bit). I couldn't get through it either.

Only "collectible" 430's will probably be scud, 16m, and three pedal cars. An f1 spider not. If u are looking for a 430 with "collect-ability" you will need to double (or more) your investment starting point.

The aftermarket stuff is all bolt on (including the wheels) and can be brought back to OEM for $. if u like it it's your ride. Low mile car.

I saw this car a while back too...i think the guy was asking in the 155k range
I think it's all aftermarket, all add together the carbon bits probably cost about 7300 to buy
the forged wheels probably cost about 7-9k to make, but used market maybe worth about 3-4k at best
the capristo exhaust, depends if you like that, that can be a 6k upgrade

Looks like a nice and clean 08, but 155k is a bit overpriced IMO even with full value added for the aftermarket bits

Personally, when I see a vehicle with every aftermarket bolt-on goo-gaw it makes me think that the owner drove through a PepBoys store with a magnet.

...and there was me thinking that looked quite nice, you guys really do have no mercy. Agree the advert is a great example of how not to write one up.

Be worth at least a call to ask if all the original parts were available and included. If so that car would be a great buy as the new owner could have it either way, part out all the carbon parts, or even the original parts?

The shields look like carbon fiber ones that my dealer has on display at the garage. I was always curious if those are aftermarket or a replacement offer from Ferrari if the yellow ones don't suit ones taste.

The circular badges in the middle of the rims with the cavallino also seem to be the CF ones to replace yellow ones, seen those at the dealer as well. I prefer them yellow on my 360 (same as the shields)...

Likely it will never happen. That will be a super rare car. The car in the ad is beautiful, I would buy it.

The only factory carbon fiber pieces are the steering wheel, paddles, dashboard inserts and center console (minus the cup holder). All other items are aftermarket. But, the seller does seem to have all of the original books and documentation which is a huge plus (IMHO). If the car has been taken care of and the PPI proves to be good, depending on the price, it may not be a bad buy.

An F430 is not a collector car. It will continue to depreciate.

Car looks good. Pretty much all after market. This would turn me away as a buyer. However, that is just my taste. There are many people who do and will love that car!
