Correct. There is no stipulation on quantity. How many 3 Koenigsegg One:1s have been made. Or Huayra BCs for that matter. You know it's faster so you'd like to disqualify it.
Let's cut to the chase, Koenigsegg hasn't put it a decent lap time anywhere. It is a fair comparison. You can't disqualify a car just because you know it will be faster. This isn't FIA-regulated you know.
LOL. Lieven has all but abandoned the stock P1, and has pinned his hatred of the 918 on a tuner car modified by a third party in order to compete. What a joke. The LM is a track car that has been made road legal - it doesn't even have a passenger seat. I suppose the following "street car" is better than all the hypercars because it can lap any track faster: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3clQa02xoi8
They have actually, and I have showed you why they can go a lot faster as well. But since there's clearly no way to have an adult discussion with you about it (and the fact that it's way OT) I suggest we leave it be. Regarding the comparision... I explained to you yesterday that no one is talking about the speed of these cars. If you think I'm disqualifying the LM because it's a lot faster then you must be completely illiterate. We are discussing the DIFFERENCES between the cars, and why those differences are considered to be so enormous that it is beyond absurd to call it a fair comparision. You are chosing to ignore what has been done to the cars, all you seem to care about is that something has been done, and because something has been done to both cars then that makes it fair to you.. The fact that one is a modified road going version of a stripped out, track only racecar and the other is a stock road car with some carbon bits stuck on it is apparently irrelevant. =l Look, if you want to have a discussion about cars (or anything else for that matter) then you have to be able to be objective. It's perfectly fine to have a favourite, we all do, but to completely disregard arguments against you or even changing them to suit your POV is extremely dishonest. I don't believe for a second that you're doing this by mistake or that you are misinterpreting things because you've been doing it over and over again for weeks. I'm done with this, I can't take any more of the hypocrisy on display here.
Lacks the ability to get over a speed bump. And those slick tyres will definitely equal a loss of driver's license. My guess is that it's on a very limited license that allows it to be driven to and from events. And it's only legal in Japan. http://www.speedhunters.com/2012/11/porsche-962c-prowls-the-streets/ What does 'homologation' mean? Does any manufacturer design absolutely everything that goes into their vehicle? No. Is this any different to Aston Martin and Zagato, or Ferrari and Pininfarina? No. And nobody said I hate the 918, I just think the nature of magazine tests make it look better than it really is.
If I started a supercar brand or any other company I'd love to have fanboys like mclaren's ones. They're like jihadists
very well then, lets compare the P1 LM to the Toyota GT-One road car: https://youtu.be/GfjivmApqpc?t=467
That's the dream. If any of my companies had a following like Lieven has for Macca I'd be telling you guys the difference between the cars myself.
Mycroft wins the threads biggest loser/most unhinged ....by far. Wow...JUST WOW....now P1 LM is in same class as WP 918? That's it, keep moving the goalpost. Delusional to the max. Keeps folks entertained I suppose.
The one that sits in a museum? You might well find the P1 LM is faster. You also seem to be confused. The P1 GTR is based on a road car, not the other way around. McLaren also designed it to be safe rather than as fast as possible, which is why the 650S GT3 is faster on many tracks.
Isn't moving the goal posts what Porsche did when they increased the battery discharge rate in HL mode?
Circular arguments are so much fun. Like McLaren moved the goalposts when they suddenly made a second set of tires standard equipment after the disappointment of Anglesea. Oh well next please.
Why would anyone waste time discussing these cars with someone who believes the P1 LM is a 'factory car'? Bizarre.
You cannot compare Keggs and Paganis with P1 LM because the LM is an existing car (P1 GTR) and modified to be made road legal. The other two are small independent manufacturers that built cars from the ground up. I fully expect that the LM will be faster than any of the hypercars because it is a modded track car. If it isn't faster, the owners should demand refunds immediately! Comparing a modded track car to a purpose built road car is ridiculous. I fully also expect a modded Aston Martin Vulcan to be quicker than the three hypercars as well, but it is meaningless comparison - who would want to drive that on the roads? It is not a road car and would be horrible on the roads - hit a bump and spit out some fillings du to the ultra stiff suspension. Must compare apples to apples.
And now back to regularly scheduled programming (ie. Laferrari vs P1 vs 918)... I looked back at the Grand Tour time trials, and there is something that caught my eye this time that I hadn't noticed the first time I saw it. When the P1 had its turn, they showed the speeds only at the first two traps, not the third, whereas both the Ferrari and Porsche showed all three trap speeds. That 3rd trap was located in the slowest part of the track. I wonder if the speed of the P1 was significantly slower there than the other two, and perhaps provide a spoiler about the final results?
The P1 existed before the P1 GTR. The P1 GTR is based on the P1, not the other way round. It's a track car based on a road car, not a road car based on a track car. So that argument doesn't work. Or how about we disallow the Zonda 760RS because of the Zonda R? Hit a bump and spin out? Excuse me LOL. Record on Good Hill climb, bumpy surface. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9J0eakk2Kg At Nordschleife, very bumpy track, again not spinning out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsQQfp0HjX4 Stop making tired excuses for the 918.
Probably the speed trap was located on one of the two corners he deliberately drifted it around. So they didn't show the trap there because it would clearly indicate he was driving like a clown.
Uhhhh, what? Nobody is making excuses for the 918. You're literally the only person here making excuses for a car and it's the P1. Wtf delusional world are you living in?
Literally an excuse for the P1 from the person who just said stop making excuses for the 918 ( which no one has been).
Of course there's one way to find out for sure, but I doubt Grand Tour will ever release the actual laps.
Drifting is just plain bad driving on a hot lap. Nothing excuse about it, in fact, there's no excuse FOR it.
