Not sure! I probably wouldn't have made the dealer's cut for the preview given my lack of buying history - only the 70th F12. The dealer tells me even the invitations to the event are decided by Ferrari - either he is being polite, or it all sounds very LE.

Of course, but not to the bean counters running the entire company. Look at the entire Takata airbag fiasco, which is due to nothing but saving a few bucks per airbag.

    I accuse you of modesty.

Your recent buying history more than justifies your invitation and they would like you to continue to spend yet more whilst dangling a fat carrot just out of reach.

Yes, they understand their customers very well and this is the result!!! Beats an advertising budget - teasing your customers is a better way to go

Perhaps but only LEs have a shot at appreciating if that is the consideration. There will be many more years of newer, faster production cars that folks will trade through to get to LEs.

I'm not sure that's strictly true. My first Ferrari (which I still own) is the 550 Maranello. Mine was 12 months old, had covered 5000 miles and has FHP.

I am its second owner, the first being the Oscar winning Producer and Ferrari enthusiast Eric Fellner (ok, who previously owned my car isn't pertinent but worth a little bragging lol).

I paid 125K GBP for the car in 1999. By 2003 it was worth an irrelevant 25K GBP trade. I decided to hold the car because (a) I adored the Maranello's sublime GT experience and (b) because she is my First and (c) couldn't bear to tell Mrs Camlet I had blown that much money on ''that silly car'' .

Today my 550 is in very rude health and now worth around what I paid for her. In time she might even be worth more given how pampered she is - yes she's driven. Why? Because she's a stunning GT with a V12 that pulls like a train, with handling more like a go kart and a PF body that's becoming more beautiful with each passing year.

So while the TDF is destined to be one of the very greats, I think the F12M given it is the last of a glorious evolutionary line might just follow the 550 Maranello's trajectory. And the 550 was far from being a LE. Just like the Daytona before it ;)

generally valid, but if you bought your 550 new and drove it say 3k miles per year, then it would likely still be worth less than list today (definitely if LHD, possibly if RHD).

    Thanks!

So looks like a scoop aft of the rear quarter windows, then, yes?

Pretty sure I've figured out the front - will post a sketch when I find some time. Hopefully before the car is revealed ;-)

Tail, I think, might be more like my first sketch:

Judging by the printed black-out contour on the glass, what you see is what you get. Half way between original F12 and tdf.

The overall shape of the windows from A pillar to C looks almost identical to the 488.
