Correct - I would also argue that this color really limits buyers.

I was just offered a 1975 (orig Pino V) but now in Giallo/Boxer on tan

Sitting for 10 or so years, and the backseat has the parcel shelf instead of seats?

Ballpark value? Probably need to recover the drivers seat and have a top to bottom detail as well

Without a thorough PPI there's no way to know. Sitting for ten years a lot can deteriorate

What's up with the rear seat section?

He thinks it's "one of eleven" made with "no back seat"...

I politely disagree. Wasn't it just a coverage option?

With no PPI is $30K a bad price though? It would be a shot in the dark, but maybe he would around that number

The rear seat delete from the picture looks correct. do you have more picture, year and is it a USA car

To give you any type of value I would need pictures inside and out and engine bay, trunk and any books, tools etc

    What could go wrong?

Although they sell for less than other period Ferraris their parts and labor cost just as much.

Ok so what's the story with the rear seat delete? How many were made? Al We know you are the godfather of the 308 gt4, in my eyes anyway. But the real test would be if you have a accurate color and modern paint info on Avorio Safari 20-y-546. That would be incredible Mike

There's at least one thread on original colors with period paint samples. Have you searched for that?

Yes there is enough threads on period colors to fill all of fchat but no info on where to get them if one does not have a spot on the car to get a scan from.

Al thx for the reply. No the car was stripped down before and painted argento. I brought the car to the body shop today and they thought they had the chip but it was Bianco polo park. I have reached out to three different fchat members who have or are doing Avorio cars but no one can help. If you have any info bless you. Absolute privelidge to chat with you. Gracie Stai bene

I just barely squeezed out $60,000 last month when I sold my '77 GT4. It was mechanically perfect, spent over $8,000 just on the engine to make it mint, XWX wheels, all gauges functioned, one Ferrari expert, ( former owner of a Dealership), and quite a collection, said that the shifting in the '77 was the smoothest he had ever driven. He owns several.

But...... I had $75,000 in it. Thought I could at least brake even at a fire sale maybe $69-72,000. I feel if I had waited for the spring I would certainly be in the 50K ish area.

I loved the car, but was time to move into something newer.

I talked to several dealer all over the map, the same answer from them all...... Well... they said.... we don't think the market is there..... older car.... GT4..... soft money.... Tall money.... it will sit for months in the show room etc. You name it, I heard it. I did not want to hear it as I assumed I had one of the best for sale in the country.... but they were all correct when they told me 60k at most, the only people that said $70k was not a problem were the auction houses...... but they were going to make me sell at NO Reserve..... too risky.

So that is my real life story of what a car should bring and what really happens on the market. I did not like it, but I knew it could happen and rolled the dice, and took a 20% loss. Not the end of the world but a little hurt that I bought a car represented as one of the top.
Like they say only buy what you really love, because you may end up stuck with it.

Without knowing all the specifics and seeing the car it's jut a guess but I would try to be around $20k for a car sitting 10 years. I bought a 75 GT4 two years ago with only 24k miles that was sitting for 25 years but in nice condition and easily put $28k more in it without needing any paint or major engine work. There is a lot to repair and replace on these cars just because of age. Mine was originally Pink Verde and tan too. Painted resale red before it was parked 25 years ago.

Don't get me wrong, $30k isn't bad either but don't expect to flip it for a profit.

It looks like these cars stall out over $40K unless they are concours cars or close to it. Maybe in Europe they bring more money but I have watched the US market closely for the last year and I don't see cars selling at the lofty prices some are asking. And there are several for sale right now, surprising considering how few there are. So getting out at $60K is a good outcome. Same thing with Mondials. 246 coattails are not as long as many thought.

If you are looking at buying one, buy one that needs almost nothing. You will be serious cash ahead of buying a fixer and trying to bring it back. Unless you were born with a Tig torch in one hand and a torque wrench in the other ..
