Agreed, excellent skill with your renderings - if it looks anything like the two you've done it will be a winner.
Wow that rendering! Marvelous! The rear I guess is going to be something between the GTC4Lusso and the TdF. Since they've wrapped the prototype quite tight with that matte material, you can certainly see the upper 3/4 rears to be exactly like the GTC4Lusso. Hopefully they'll make the exhaust/diffuser part much prettier.
I believe there are some pics floating around off-forum.....matter of time before someone posts one/all them
People, do you think the gap in design between the F12b and the F12M will be equal, less or more than between the 458 and the 488 ?
you believe or you are sure ? ! I suspect you to have the pictures but don't dare to post them ahahah
Exactly the same. I predict that, while appealing and big leap forward etc to most, I will see it as just a refreshment, with some nice up-to-date details but overall failing to improve the original design of the F12. That is just inherent to an original masterpiece, instant-classic design from scratch as were 458 and F12.
I am less sure about a really big step, I can't see them announcing 800bhp when there are 70th cars and maybe a few TDF to build. Talk about raining on parades. Although as I have a super early M I am conflicted. Historically big increases have been reserved for NEW models and not facelifts. FF had a rename and still had only a small lift. As an aside decided to take on a 250 mile UK journey late last night in my F12 was such a joy with no traffic, very hard to keep anywhere near speed limit. Takes real focus.
Rear is very much like GTC4L however not as tall....we are now in the zone of "weeks" from seeing it in its true flesh.....
Someone showed to me. It's hard to tell. It looks like a page from the GTC4L when it was being launched.....looks modern straight line across rear....
Agree completely that it would be great to see some pounds shed and 4ws from the tdf. As a mid-life update rather than a new ground up design that together with some cosmetic changes & a few more hp would keep the punters happy. In my mind, a well executed electric assist to a N/A V12 should not detract from any of the qualities that we appreciate in the current V12. So, I'd be happy to wait for the next model. Just one person's point of view.
Thanks all. Griffon, the exhaust/diffuser is "hidden" in plain view in this Ludovic Manchon picture. Everything is just wrapped in the camo vinyl except for the areas I indicated in red, which are padded up under the vinyl wrap. You can even see the red reflector strip right above the exhaust cut-out in the rear bumper skin. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Picture below confirms this, with 4 lights across strongly horizontal theme at the back, with no more T-shape. The license plate recess reminds me of the one on F430. The area between the inboard taillights is covered up but is expected to be open around the lights, but center section should be solid. I (very roughly) positioned the inboard lights and imagined some venting below the lights where it is covered up - I would expect a more vertical vent compared to GTC. Dotted line indicates what might be another possible character line (similar angle to vent in the front fender) where the trailing edge of that would open up to a vent. It's only visible now that you explain it-terrific work, thank you. Where do you think the inlet behind the rear side windows exits? Might it vent onto the rear deck?
