Pls bear with me on this topic, I have done all the search on this forum and other Ferrari owners related forums in the last 2 days. I can't quite put it together yet. Any input would be appreciated!

    Here's my story before Christmas:
Originally, me and my wife to add a new Ferrari in our family, mostly for my wife because my boy just graduated from baby seat to booster so we can do some family trips in Ferrari over weekends. We were pretty sure we would choose any of these: FF, Cali 30 and Cali T. Then, we went to the dealership for some test drives, it turns out Cali's rear seem too small even on booster seat, the kid in the back can't really stretch his legs, then my wife and I didn't quite like how the FF looks. She didn't want to get a Ferrari because it's practicality. Anyways, after looking around Bentley, Aston, Maserati, etc, she ended up with a GT-MC. It has all the space room, sound, look, etc. We are fine with the low tech as her Flying Spur doesn't fancy in technologies anyways.

Now comes to my story, our sales was nice enough to offer me to try out all the cars mentioned above. After the purchase of Maser, he asked me if I wanted to try out the 458 Spider and the F12 (he sold me my current 599, last 2 F430's and Cali). That was one hell of expensive test drive BTW.

Drove the 458 Spider first, the car is fully loaded with CF everywhere but missing the suspension lift. It drove like big go-kart, pretty much the same experience as 458 coupe that I drove years ago. Very fun, pretty much flawless as a sports car. The only downside is I really don't like all the electronic stuff in the car. It feels cold and unorganized.

Then I drove the F12, again, hate all those electronic nannies, rather not having any tbh. Holly crap, loved the power, feel so raw and yet refine. The throttle is touchy, it actually feels faster than my SV on the streets. The whole package is just light years ahead of my 599. I think it's the best GT experience I have ever had.
So I put a deposit for the F12, submit the credit app, etc. (It came back approval second day btw. )

When I was leaving the dealership, saw a black Speciale w. 5k miles, it looked lovely. I was curious, asked for more info. Later he said they just took it in for consignment, the owner is willing to sell at MSRP $350k.

Ok here's the trouble becomes, I came home started looking thru the F12 session here, seems like F12M coming out very soon, chances are the F12 price may start falling off the cliff soon. I do intend to use as daily for next 1-2 years and put about 20k miles on it. Saw there's a black w. red F12 with 22k miles couldn't sell for months. That does make me worried about high mileage resale value on F12.

Hmm, should I wait a bit more for the F12 or just get the Spider or the Speciale? If I get the Speciale, probably gonna keep it longer since it's rarer. The Spider might have better resale value when comes to selling. I think I dig myself a **** hole to fall into. LOL.

Whatever I get, I will use it as daily with my Rolls and Bentley. I'm pretty sure after holiday my dealer will rush me to bring in the down payment and sign the deal, but can anyone shed some light to prevent me making a stupid move?

Sorry about my English, it's the best I could do.

    Thank you!

    V12 is V12.
Wait for F12 price to go down and buy it. Since you are not buying new car, why not wait?
It is better car than most of cars out there.

Love the mid engine madness...458 Speciale probably one of the best car hands down...next to my 488 Spider

Speciale is the best sporting car among the three but perhaps the least suited to performing most people's idea of daily routine. With a Rolls and Bentley to assist, that should sort you out!

Interesting Christmas conundrum.... a year ago I chose between a Speciale and an F12. The Speciale is a truly amazing driving machine, and with a naturally aspirated V8 revving to 9000.... however, quite hardcore which is why I ended up buying an F12. Always wanted a V12 and being able to use it on track as well as a GT car, it is a good complement to my old 430 Spider 6M. As you want to use it as a daily driver, you may find the Speciale too hard core. You will probably suffer the least depreciation w the Speciale though. Only advice is to drive all 3 properly and let your heart decide. In any case, enjoy!!!

For daily use and based on the cars you have, I say F12. Speciale is a weekend car mostly, possibly with light track use thrown in.

    Good luck!

I went Speciale and never regretted it. The ride is quite compliant in the soft mode, and it's a blast to drive. The only thing holding it back from being a good daily driver are the seats. I swapped a pair of Enzo seats into mine. They have better cushioning and are way more comfy, but don't go against the car's sporting nature. For me it would be an easy decision: go Speciale. Enjoy for 5-6 years, then decide if you want to pick up a low-mile second hand F12M. Odds are you'd just keep the Speciale, but only you could make that decision.

Seeing as you are going to put 20,000 miles on it over the next 2 years, why not look for an F12 that already has some miles. Cheaper upfront cost and you don't have to be concerned about putting additional miles on it.

    I had the f12/speciale/sv combo.

    f12 and sv are gone.

I really liked the f12 as did my wife. Prices have really started to fall on the f12's. You should probably be able to get one for $300K 2015 model with 4 to 5K miles on it (USA market)

I think Lukeylikey makes a good point- you have Rolls and Bentley already on the GT side so on paper it seems the Speciale would be the best fit into your collection. If you are going to put 10k miles/ year on over the next few years, then any one will depreciate, including the Speciale. I suspect they will depreciate roughly the same % but maybe there is a little bigger exposure on the F12. You really have to go with whichever one stirs your soul the most.

I have the cars you are considering and other F-cars. The Speciale is the best car you list by far. The prices are so low for that car. The Speciale is last 9000 rpm V8 car from Ferrari. It sounds like a Ferrari. The 488 while being faster on the street. It is a turbo torque monster like everything else being made in Europe (sans Huracán/R8). Revving to 8000 is a huge step backwards in the passion dept. The turbo really ruin the sound of the car. If you have a chance to buy a Speciale, get it. It's the last passionate V8 Ferrari.

    nothing wrong with your english.
i agree get the speciale since you have a rolls and bentley.
If you live in a climate where you can drive a convertible 8+ months a year i wld consider the spider.

Thank you very much for all the inputs!! Here are some updates, I got time till the end of the week to decide so I went to test drive the F12, 458 Spider, 458 Speciale and 488 Coupe yesterday again.

Man, I couldn't be more confused because I think ultimately I need all of them LOL!!! Seriously, I start to understand why Ferrari don't let ppl test drive their cars sometimes, I think they shouldn't. Test drives made me confused. I wish Ferrari like Lambo, Rolls, Bentley, etc. Buying those cars are simple, when in doubt, buy the bigger one, problem solved. Every Ferrari has its own character, almost like choosing children of my own.

F12: I always love the attitude of flagship V12 Ferraris. Who doesn't? It does everything well and perfectly as motoring wise. The only 2 things stopping me right now: unknown depreciation (I'm aware that all cars this level depreciate and I'm willing to pay to play but within a reasonable amount), and the elegant look doesn't fit well with my sinister garage mates.

458 Spider: Yesterday was sunny, warm, about 68F while we were test driving, top down was just priceless. This was actually out of the picture already but that sense of occasion, priceless. The first time I approached the 458S with driving, engine, etc. I think I was wrong from the beginning as convertible should be reviewed as a toy. I currently don't have any open top, this might just fill the gap but I do worry when another F12 comes up to me, I would feel hopeless.

458 Speciale: First time driving a Speciale, I expected it was like Scuderia to F430, more hardcore, more focus, more track oriented, etc. all those strong words. However, the Speciale is just as easy to drive as any 458, or I would say even easier in my hands, corning can be flat VS 458's lean and dive a little. Yeah, the sports seats are firmer than Daytona seats, the cabin noise seems louder (not nicer kinda loud). The road manner of Speciale is pretty bad tho, it's very touchy and rev happy. The car kept asking me to rev because that's the only way to enjoy the Speciale. I was a former racing series champion, but I do find this car too much for the public road. By too much, I mean the Speciale demands to rev, pushing it to the limit, etc. If I keep doing that, sooner or later I will get locked up for speeding. Well, I love it but I don't think I can serve up to its purpose. Moving to German or asking Trump to remove speed limited come in front of buying a Speciale in my book.

488 Coupe: It's my first time to look close at the 488. It does look much sharper, angular, and next gen. when sitting next to 458. I'm a 100% NA guy on any road car, but I find its engine sounds more expensive than the 458S, interesting. Once I got on the throttle, drove it 2 blocks, I noticed it's exactly one generation ahead of 458. As a car, its better than 458 in every way. As a passion, as a Ferrari tho, I'm not commenting because of not enough seat time on this one. My sales just wanted me to experience a little bit it since I had no interest to buy.

The picture has become a little bit clearer: F12 for the big daddy feel, or 458S for happy kid feel. Awwwwwwwww!!!

You have narrowed it down. Great, now you might want to consider picking up both! Yes, having an autobahn will be ideal.

Indeed. Buy the Speciale as an investment and use the F12 as a daily drive car.

I don't think the Speciale is really a financial investment. It could be an investment in your happiness.

You put your finger on the problem- they are all so good. It really depends on what excites you the most. I say sleep on it or wait a few days and then flip a coin and before you look at the result think which result you really want it to be and that is your answer.

    You need a convertible.

You will then need an F12.

You will not need so many other cars. Truly, they all are kinda lame unless it's a Veyron or something truly exotic, but even then, get a Ferrari.

    And black is plenty sinister:

I guess it depends on what you want from the car. I spent a morning this week at the local Ferrari dealership for my F12's annual maintenance. The dealer had a very interesting inventory of classic Ferrari's, 458's and 488's, and FF's. After I made the rounds I felt nothing. The F12 is the car for me. Spacious, drop dead gorgeous interior, all the power I can ever use, classic lines, wonderful exhaust note and well behaved demeanor even in rush hour traffic. I've never felt the absence of car lust before.
