I've never owned a black car, I always heard they show the dirt more than most colors, yet there's a ton of F cars for sale in black, whats the appeal? too many F12's for sale in black, is it because their a bit more stealthy, the lines don't show well in black imo, would like to hear from black car owners on this, maybe I've got it all wrong,,

If you're only using it on weekends like I did mine, you'll be fine.
If it's for daily use, no.

This. I had one, and that was enough.

Sister brilliantly has nothing but black vehicles, which look dirty the next day after every wash.

They're also amazingly hot to the touch in summer. I had my one.

If you have OCD and own a Black Ferrari well, yes, you're crazy. For the rest of us... we're lovin' it and don't mind being a little dirty. :D

Yeah - I'm sure you would turn down these cars, due to excessive dirt :)

And - remember that black looks cool on Special Reconnaissance aircraft too. ;)

    I resemble that remark. ;)

Some cars look better in certain colors than others. Not all cars are their best in black, but quite a few F-cars are.

On an F12 or an FF black tends to "kill" the lines, specially when the sun is not shining. Thoose models look far better in grey or silver.

Black is an awesome color for our cars....as long as you don't take them out in the sun...

I think black shows lines very well, white is where shapes go to disappear.
I agree. I've owned two black Corvettes and one black TR.

When it comes to our sports cars we're all a little more particular any way, right?

Oh well, I have never liked white cars...but now I have owned an (unrestored) E-type V12 roadster in white for over four years.

It does not make it disapperar believe me. Also for a Testarossa I think white is my favorite and not black. For some cars black is great, but it does mean I would need to carry a duster and a microfiber towel with some detailer bottle all the time.

Dirt shows on white as well, but it is so easy to clean and polish a white car. Maybe I am lazy. :)

My 456 GT is Argento Nürburgring = Silver which is even easier to keep looking nice.

    Cheers,

    Pekka T.

Black is awesome, but it is definitely high maintenance.

I have loved owning all colors including black. The black ones are easy to maintain IMO if your willing to apply 2coats of pure carnuba wax a few times a year. This helps prevent a lot the dirt build up, but also puts a layer between the cleaning method you choose and the paint finish. My black cars always look new and show the body styling in a stunning way when looking at the car in person, but most pictures do not do justice the way human eyes do.

I've come around to white recently. Much more than black.
White TRs, 360s and 430s along with gallardos, look amazing!

Black makes a car look smaller, more compact and therefore more sporty. This can really help with some of the bigger F cars. As has been mentioned many times, it looks awesome for about 20 minutes after you clean it.
