How do Ferrari service appointments work?

    I know it may sound like a dumb question to some of you, but seeing as how I have some time on my hands before I ever need one, I thought I'd do a little research to understand how it typically works for an annual service visit.

    · Do dealerships typically take care of most service needs on the same day, or is it a multi-day affair?

    · Long shot, but do they offer [Ferrari] loaners? That is one huge perk of owning a Porsche: receiving a Porsche loaner is just awesome as even their "low end" cars are just amazing.

    · Do you guys typically drive your car to the dealer or get them transported?

    · Between Ferrari Silicon Valley & Ferrari San Francisco, is there a consensus regarding service department performance?

    To answer your last question first; at this point I would trust Ferrari of Silicon Valley's service department far more than SF. The quality of SF's service department has declined greatly over the last few years. It's not by any means "bad" just lacking from what it once was.

    Next up, it really depends on how far away from a dealership someone is, and what the car needs done. If you live 100+ miles from a service center you're going to transport it. 25 miles or so a lot of clients drive the cars in. If the car is over due for a major service or needs something in order to driveable/safe etc. Transport.

    No Ferrari of SF and Silicon valley do NOT give out Ferrari loaners as a general rule. I have a client that took his F12 in for service to Silicon Valley and was given an FF loaner but he has also bought a Laferrari and 9 other Ferraris from Silicon valley, so make of that what you will.

    Again, it really depends on what you're having done. Light day at the shop and the fluid service only? Sure you can get it back by the end of the day. An issue or major service or really anything needing to be done to a 355 or older, no way will you get it back by the end of the day.

    F SV is fantastic but they are very busy so make sure to get an appt early. I have bought several cars from them so I am not sure how that impacts loaner or not but I have always had one if needed. mine have varied from fiats to masers (f12 owner but no LaF ;) ).

    1. My annuals as well as a single, spontaneous service visit, have all been multi-day affairs. About 2 thru 10 working days for my experiences.
    2. None. They can rent me a Fiat 500 I think....
    3. I've driven the car to and from all my services minus the one spontaneous service (used a flat-bed "just in case" which in the end wasn't needed; but I felt better so it was worth it).
    4. No input on this one as I'm SoCal.
