There's an Argento Nürburgring 488 Spider in the Ferrari Park Avenue showroom, and it has Blu Sterling leather. It's so dark, it could easily be mistake for black. I'm wondering when this new leather color was released - did it debut with the 488? And is it the official replacement for Blu Scuro, as far as dark blue leathers are concerned? If someone ordered a new Ferrari with Blu Scuro leather, would it be considered an extracampionario interior?

Also, the car has what was officially referred to as an aluminum tachometer, which is another new option to which I wasn't hitherto privy. The picture of it just makes it seem like pearlescent white - Bianco Fuji almost - and this is the first time I've come across any Ferrari whose tachometer was referred to or indicated as aluminum. Is this also a new option? If so, did it also debut with the 488/California T?

Any and all information about these options, and their respective debuts, is of genuine interest to me. Thank you.

I just get the feeling this car will be hard to sell years from now with no shields and "Bentley" quilt pattern seats.

I have the Blue Stirling in my 458 Aperta so it's been out for a couple of years.

I traded my Pozzi Blue 458 Spider with Couio quilted seats and no shields for my Aperta and received a great price. The dealer sold it within a week!

I like it because it's different from the rest. It's not another ho-hum "safe sell" Ferrari. That's nice to see.

Detailed facts are greatly appreciated, thank you.

I don't suppose you'd be willing to disclose your Aperta's serial number? I wouldn't mind documenting the interior color for my database.

Also, note that this car has absolutely no carbon fiber.

That steering wheel is fascinating. I've never seen an all leather wheel with LED's before. A number of weeks ago there was someone asking for a pic of one on another thread. He asked a few times but I don't believe anyone ever posted a pic. I hope he sees this. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, two tone. Blue /Red with lower dashboard in blue.

As an FYI, the exterior of the car is TDF Blue.

That sounds awesome. Did you leave your upper dash black?

I am debating doing a black interior but the seats be blue sterling with a silver stripe. What do you think?

I've just ordered a GTB with blue sterling lower dash and Daytona insert against Terra Brucatta.

I saw the leather samples in the flesh, and it's definitely blue, albeit a deep one. White tach, and the final steering wheel will be all leather LED. No carbon.

I am unsure if this reflects "official factory history", but we dealt with the Blu Sterling leather when ordering our 2015 FF, which was a May production car.

    1) Blu Scuro leather was no longer available. Period. Blu Sterling was the only option. Scuro was not available even as Extra Camp...and we asked

    2) We did get Blu Scuro alcantara carpets; Scuro was (oddly) Extra Campionario

This was "as written" in the usual factory-issued options/colors/spec book the dealer had.

We were a bit unsure of the Sterling, the sample seemed a bit "bright" but the actual car it seems darker; not as much as our first (Scuro) FF.

Looks very nice. What is your opinion on my post above? Do you think the black and the blue will flow?
