For those who has the car in hand does has or not the entry keyless system ? Or Just keyless start? Hope has both...
😥any real reason as anti theft protection? Or Just lazy... , Everycar since 10yrs ago has It , sigh..
Maybe they have decided that keyless entry can be too easily compromised by gadgets readily available on eBay. Personally I'm happy to press a key fob button to lock and unlock the car, at least you are sure it is or isn't locked.
Would require a redesign of the door handle. Need sensors on front and back, can't do that with these types of handles and, frankly, the bigger type that can support keyless entry would look goofy on this car. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I agree it's not a big deal, but the whole GTC4 concept was to make it modern on the tech side. They could put the sensor in the door at the top, not in the handle. Not a big deal to me, again. Yet it could be done. It's a Ferrari ... there is no one else in the category.
Innovation for sake of it, what is possibly objectionable re pressing a key fob on leave and arrival !
What would be cool is to sort out (in UK at least) the pathetic and outdated system where we carry a $1 plastic fob around to support the Cat 5 Tracker Con, talk about a market that needs disrupting
+1 With Keyless I would always be wondering if the car was actually locked when i left it, especially with Ferrari and their well known technical glitches.
If i was Enzo, i was asking the best in everything for my car. Keyless Ferrari ? You can sort in without Key touch, when u sort out After 5 second the car close itself or when the Key is 2mt from the car, It u do not close doors touching on the Door button to close as in Maserati ghibli or Levante, and if Someone jump in within 5sec no problem, the car can not bè activated as there is not the Key , the car Will close after 5 sec with him inside lol and activated allarm. I often read It is not update with electronics , as It is a Ferrari, but Who told the Ferrari need to bè not updated to bè ...Ferrari ? Will try to find some book about Enzo ferrari .. to understand his idea , but the feeling looking brand Ferrari It is " the best, always " New customer here , 40yrs old waiting My First Ferrari , gtc4 .
With keyless you just open the door and get in, you don't need to take the fob out of your pocket, your hands are free, the process is simpler and more convenient. If this car is promising luxury and everyday practicality then it should be on equal basis at least with other luxury brands.
Keyless entry and other newer electronic niceties are the sort of thing that seem silly until you have them in a daily car and then they become very much appreciated, and then you want them in your next car. Its very nice not to fumble for a key. Just as its nice to have a heated steering wheel etc... I think you are right, they should have it. Often, Ferrari just takes their own path on things like this. You can call this charm or frustration. I would also like to hear more reports on the car itself.
Keyless entry will soon be your most "why didn't I do this before" option on that car. It really does make the process of entering the car (especially in the elements) much nicer
Of course it makes life easier. Is the modern standard. Etc. Yet with Ferrari it's more like .. "hey we gave you some newish tech that we over hyped for a huge price, shut up and drive!" It's the charm, if you love the driving experience. If you want features, Chevy.
Keep it simple, especially for Ferrari, so no need for keyless entry. For cars with that feature, I hate always having to look at the blinking alarm light to make sure if the car is locked or not.
Pro's: - very comfortable to drive, to sit in as a passenger in the front or back. - feels like a larger F12, but the feeling behind the wheel is very similar. - you feel relaxed while driving and don't have to push hard to enjoy the car( I always have to push F12 to enjoy, never felt satisfied driving slow) - steering, throttle, brakes all respond slower compared to F12, but in a way that makes this car easier to live with on daily basis. - I love the interior design and quality, especially the steering wheel, the door grab, the stitching, al - excellent storage and stowage space, especially for phones, keys, remotes... - suspension lifter works better than F12, it's faster and smoother. - the sound is fantastic on sport setting - great gearbox, very aggressive on sport yet smooth and seamless on comfort. - Air conditioning is wonderful, very good air distribution and fan speed adjustment range. - the seat ventilation and heating option really works well, and you can't hear it! - engin compartment looks beautiful - improved fuel consumption - wife and kids are happy to join on long journeys Cons: - user logic is behind the Germans - keyless entry is not complete - the infotainment software is very slow and often not responding - the seatbelt mechanism needs a button to recall it - lumbar support can be better
Trick: even with keyless you can still use as common key, u can look for key into the pocket and use it as u want. But i still hate to look for the key into pocket, jacket, rucksack.. till i find the key. Bad trick , without keyless function we still will have to look for the key... I think if ferrari make a market research we will not have the keyless entry till 2050. So thats it , do not depends on Ferrari, depends on us... Lol
Keyless entry is just not sufficiently secure. So many cars stolen or entered using cheap purchased gadgets that grab the signal from a nearby key. Modern cars now sit outside houses of their owners with old fashioned steering wheel locks - which truly are a faff to deal with - undoing all the simplicity of keyless entry and significantly more difficult than just pressing a button on a key. That’s not progress. Much prefer to have to activate key by pressing button. Would also prefer to have to put key in a ket slot to start - like the aston martin system on the previous gen cars. Just feels more secure than dojg everything by radio signals that can just be grabbed by cheap tech to steal the car. Keyless entry and go are draft and poorly thoughtout. Until that tech is actualy secure it should be abandoned.
