    Joe, I disagree.

Has anyone actually driven one and spent some time in one... or is anyone in the market for one. Kind of hard to really know until you have done either.

And btw, 500k would be a steal in the current market.....

Listing a car for 1M and selling it are two different things.

If 500k is a steal, I have one with less than 2k miles on it, I can make a deal on. PTS, just like that Yellow one.

I drove the car, and it's great. Personally, I would trade for a V12 Vantage S manual (one of 100) and get all my 911R money back. The Aston will undoubtedly be worth more down the road, especially with the AMG partnership. The R, I personally think will sell for under msrp at some point.

Or trade for a Speciale and 100k.

    lol.

I can get a GT Silver car with Lava Orange Stripes (with less than 83 miles), for waaaaay less than that. They're dreaming.

IMO, the high water mark, has hit for this car.

$1m??? Wow. Well congrats to whoever can spend $1m on a 991 R.

I am pretty sure it will drop when the 991.2 GT3 comes out with a manual.

At the risk of going off topic, there seem parallels here to where 458 S-A and F12tdf are "trading" - a multiple of MSRP for limited edition variant of a production car. Both P and F are fully engaged in the LE game, but hard to see how these large premia will hold up as the successor limited editions are released.

    Agreed.

    The 4.0 RS is a bench-mark end-of-an-era car with a competition-derived engine, a true collectible GT Porsche.

The 991R, is simply another packaged Porsche, albeit a good one, but, not ultimately worth a million, or even half-a-million.

In fact, I would never advise anyone to pay more than sticker for the car.

But don't let me stop anyone who wants to pay more.

Simple way to look at it, two sets of keys for the day, what would you rather drive. A 997 RS 4.0 is a seminal drive probably the ultimate development of the analogue car.

991R, very cool machine, soon to be avaialble to the masses in a 991 Gt3 stick.

Now give me a Cayman Gt4 with the 991R motor and were cooking.

I never got these instant collectables.

    Depends on how much over.

50th anniversary 911s are still around MSRP with 5k+ miles. Both manual and PDK.
