Hey Mike, me too! Big wedding in Big Sur and had to be on the road early on Friday morning as I was picking up a loaner Airstream 30' trailer to live in for the weekend. It was a lot of fun though trying to get a 30-foot trailer into a parking spot in a tight campground in the dark was the reverse towing job of the year, if I do say so myself. Glad you guys had fun and no breakdowns. Actually saw Laust on the 405 on Monday headed north; I was just returning from dropping off the Airstream and he went by me. Was gone before I could get a snap.

Last weekend we invited friends to ride along in our Espada SI on a country cruise to brunch. Along the way I heard from the back, "Oh look. This is an ashtray! I wonder how it comes out.....oops. I guess I broke it. Sorry." So now I'm looking around to see if it can be replaced. I'm hoping it came from some common parts bin back in the day and might be available somewhere. Anyone know?

Yup, that's it. The lid flips over about the long axis.

Isn't that the same one used in the 400GT?

I took this close-up of the tray today. The thumb flap that is used to flip the lid over is part of a delicate metal frame that is fastened to the cigarette holder with little bent-over tabs. My passenger pulled too hard on the thumb flap and broke the frame at its corner. A jeweler might be able to solder or braze the thing back together, but there isn't much metal to work with. It would be easier to replace it if a like unit is available. I can't seem to budge the box itself. The restoration dudes must have glued the thing in back in the '80s.

    @ daryl:
im also looking for one of those ashtrays. verry hard to find. i missed one two weeks ago. price was expensive, i was thinking about to long, and when i decide to buy it, it was allready gone.
if you find two, let me know.
dont know, if you allready know: you should start looking in the fiat dino universe. the bertone 2.0 fiat dino coupe (not the 2.4, they had different front ashtrays) is the only car i know (accept some lambos), where you will find this special ashtray. it was the front ashtray there, in the back they used the simpler one, like in the espada S2.
im happy for any more information about those ashtrays.
    regards axel

I just wrote the builsheet for this Espada S3...

Yes the interior is not correct I agree, but price is already adapted to this fact... so you can try but the margin is not that big for a big discount...

if you plan to have it retrimmed the way it must be, it will cost you 18.000 € at the contractor of Lamborghini SpA, that I can introduce you to...

    Telaio #9334
    Motore #41237
    Bertone carrozzeria #1004
Colore : Luci del Bosco / Verde chiaro
    Consegna : 14/05/1974
    Cliente : S.E.A. – Roma

It belongs to a belgian fellow who didn't want to put it back to its original color... interior is very clean and original.

Mechanically it deserves a big service, with what I've seen, you must consider a budget of 12.000 € on top for the work + paintjob (question of taste or respect of originality)

2 years ago it was displayed at Essen TCE and didn't sell at 150.000 €

Ho all - I mistakenly posted this in the Urraco thread - it has been suggested the car was more of an espada design study...

......back in the day before Lamborghini went for volume though the Gallardo and subsequent models there was a design study done for a revised Lamborghini which looked to my eyes at least like a junior Gallardo and a lovely looking car IMHO.

I have one "photograph" of this although I believe it was a computer generated image and I'm pretty sure the work didn't go beyond this and perhaps one other design study - ASAIK no actual cars were ever created and all the design work was limited to studies of a digital nature.

I would have loved this car to have seen the light of day with perhaps a V8 junior & V10 senior versions - still time moved on and the car was never to happen.

I have attached the only pic I have but I know other elevations and pictures existed - perhaps a couple of others for this car and more of the later study which was in my opinion less elegant.

Does anyone know of any additional images - I would love to see then all collated here for posterity.

As I said in the Urraco thread.......this thing has grown on me. I guess the new cars have gotten so ridiculous looking that this is starting to look pretty damn good!

Also, it looks better than an FF.

Same basic shape as a Panamera but in a 2-door.

How hard would it be to just put a "Lamborghini body" on that platform?

    Badge ++ engineering ... :D

Hard to beat the original ...
