This happens here as well - had one of my swimming buddies insist Muslims were "over 20% of the population now and the fastest growing religion" based on what the internet told her...I emailed the most recent census figures to her which show Aus Muslim population at 2.2% of population (those pesky decimal points will get in the way of a good scare campaign!) and the fastest growing religion in Aus is actually Hinduism.

In recent years, understandably to a degree because of 9/11, a small number of Muslim nutters have been given an inflated amount of attention and importance. If there is a government / media conspiracy, it is to keep the sheeple frightened by a bogeyman group. Seem to be plenty buying into it.

I live my life exactly as I always have, exactly how I choose because I won't be turned into a fraidy cat by the media or ***** blokes wringing their hands. Biggest hassle I've had since the 'Muslim terror' was invented is the nuisance with the faux security in airports these days.

Karen is nearly right, I stood up to the schoolyard bullies ...... and got smacked down pretty quickly .... unfortunately I'm not too bright and I did it every day of my school life for either myself or my friends .... same result, on the ground with sore head ..... but I refused to give in to the bullies .

Troy, unfortunately is taking over from me and gave a bully short shrift at TAFE last year when some street bullies came into the TAFE and harassed a disabled Aboriginal boy. To his credit and his mother's fear , he told these idiots to leave the disabled kid alone and get out, ... I think the 6'5" 120kg unit worried them a little and they left.

So standing up to the bullies is fine as long as you look like you will waste them
