Is this accurate ? I would think the number imported to the US would be about half of total production.

This looks more correct. Looks like Wiki swapped the Coupe & Cab numbers.

    Those Coupes are rare animals.

Yes, rare for the U.S. But lots of them elsewhere. Well, relatively speaking. :)

Assume this doesn't count those individually imported, meaning Euro cars that were owner bought in Euro (or else where) and then imported in (non dealer)..

I think this is my car. Made for euro, later imported to Canada, Then to USA. My 1985 seems more like a 1984 when ordering parts. I am however glad that it made it to my garage!

Zero 1984 Mondial Coupes imported in the US? Can anyone verify this as accurate? And if so, why?

    Thanks

Those numbers are absurd. I have well over 100 Mondial Cabriolet 3.2 USA vins for 1986 alone.

Generally speaking most models are at 25-30% for USA.

Not necessarily absurd (wildly unreasonable, illogical, or inappropriate.), just incomplete because there isn't a comprehensive single source.

Maybe someday the numbers will all add up together.

I have around 12 I service, and I think most are USA delivery cars. I still think Ferrari fudges production numbers. I think they produce far more cars then they declare.

My Mondial 308 QV Cab 1985. 56287, euro specs exported to US 1987, now back in Europe. My paper says this was the first time in use, not sure if this is correct. Anyone with some information about my car? Is the name, likely to be a private person or a company? I think it was exported to California.

Interesting. First time I have seen numbers by year. If you look the 23 imported in '93 and the fairly well documented fact that 18 Valeo's were imported that year. That would suggest only 5 non-valeo '93's were imported? I thought my Valeo was rare but it appears second to the 3 pedal '93 t?

Here I thought I had one of the most rare production Ferrari's our there. #sigh.

    Still love it though.

    Great thread.

18 is pretty rare. Take a look at the Mustang/Camaro production:

My euro spec 8 (39685) was imported at some point but haven't been able to figure out when. FNA says they have no record of my car in the states before 2008. I keep coming up with dead ends on my searches. I'm looking for as much info on my car as possible. Cool that there was only 41 euro 8's imported into US though !
