That's nuts! For a $5 switch? I bet there is a PN that would cross reference to something else reasonable.
Rick - the photos I posted were from a SCUD and those are hard plastic. I would not bet on it. We typically seen these parts be exclusive. Valeo is one of the suppliers. And, yeah, buying the entire sub assembly is nuts and while that price is crazy, I'd argue that the parts are certainly more than $5. But, I'm sure owners would be happy if they could buy a replacement switch for $150.00
What does the other side of the buttons look like ? The side i can see could be turned from solid but the whats on the other side ?
For some it is rubber with an internal microswitch that is built into the common metal housing (as in my 2007 F430)
Mike, I think you are missing my point. The rubber buttons have a totally different housing. Putting a hard button in that housing won't allow any stoke to actuate the switch. Look at the photo I posted, the micro switch is not in a metal housing, it's in a plastic housing. The switch (assembly) can be removed from the metal trim.

If yours is not rubber, you have no worries (aside from sticky) No worries. I'll try to get and post photos as these come in. My colleague might have some better photos - I'll check and circle back.
This is a current pic from CMC. It was NOT in this condition when I traded it in. There were no sticky issues anywhere. I agree the car screams for a good detailing. The R button was in perfect shape when I gave up the car as was the rest of the interior. The R button was made locally by an independent who had access to a 3D printer. We went through two mock ups prior to the finished product.
So you are saying that photo has the 3D printed R button??? I'm think not as it looks destroyed and has the "R" on it.
I am assuming whoever bought the car after I owned it did not replace the switch console. If they did then the rubber on this has deteriorated just like the original. When I owned the car the original R button rubber came apart. We made a 3D printed button (see pic - I found one finally). The pic I posted was one CMC took recently as they have acquired the car from whoever owned it from 2/2016 until they sold it to CMC. By my calculations that's approximately 8 months and 7K miles since I let it go. The 3D button we had made had a decal placed over it so the R would be illuminated when lit. The actual make up of the button is an opaque clear plastic painted black. What you are most likely looking at is the decal wearing through IF it is still the same button I installed. Thanks, Bill. Seeing this photo, it seems to match the prior. The button, while perhaps functional, is not the same geometry as the OEM.
I knew that going in. My original plan was to have a functional switch until I made up my mind whether to keep the car or trade it in. If I had kept it I would have replaced with OEM. It hurts to see how bad the interior ended up 8 months after I traded the car in.
I have the same issue here. The R button totally melted after the car was cleaned with normal water based cleaner. Not sure what to do.
Let me get this straight.... There are different types of buttons installed on the scuds? I wonder if it has to do with the year. Mine is an 08' and it has the soft rubber buttons.
If you are certain your buttons are rubber, than yes. We have refinished R and Auto buttons for SCUD's and they were hard plastic.
Yes.. mine are soft rubber for sure. What is the alternative solution if they start going bad besides the well known sticky issue? The picture of the melted button scares me that eventually it might happen to me.
I have a set of these now, thanks to an Fchatter in the UK who was selling an older unit. The buttons are full rubber, with a somewhat 'harder' rubber crescent on the interior for depressing the electronic button itself. I'm going to investigate two different solutions: (1) full remanufacture of the rubber buttons, and (2) full replacement of the button/electronic portion. The electrical switches are extremely simply push button deals. I think finding an 'off the shelf' two wire push button to fit this diameter is a reasonable possibility. I heard that you can buy the buttons as spare parts for the Alfa Romeo 4C. They are supposed to be 599 compatible. I don't know how that translates across to the 430.
