    Greetings everyone

Allow me to introduce myself. I am a 19 year old car enthusiast from Europe who always had a passion for " The Prancing Horse ".

The other day I saw a video about the Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni. This really warmed up my heart. It's fantastic to see a company rewarding a loyal employee who has done many good things for them by naming a car after him. I am not really a Lamborghini fan, but this is just a class act. Mercedes has done something similar for Sir Stirling Moss with the SLR. Both of these gentlemen are still alive...

It made me wonder why Ferrari hasn't done the same yet for Schumacher. This hero has won 5 World Championships for them and 71 GP's.

I mean, one night I dreamt about Ferrari announcing the new Ferrari F5 Schumacher. 71 models of them are going to be made and each car will have a plaque inside paying tribute to a race won by him. For example, car one : 1996 Catalunya. Car two : 1996 Spa-Francorchamps. Car 71: 2006 Shanghai .

The car was open without a windshield. It was very much inspired by the design of a F1 car but it was still road-legal.

Of course, "F5" is just an easy made-up name from a silly dream, but I think you can understand my point.

Michael Schumacher should really not be forgotten and there should be atleast one model who carries his name. Or atleast a color, such as Blu Pozzi and Swaters, named after a French and Belgian racing driver. Many colors bear the name of a track such as Rosso Fiorano, Grigio Silverstone, Argento Nurburgring, Nero Daytona, etc. It would be cool to have a color named " something Suzuka " after his first WC in Japan back in 2000.

I mean, Ferrari is an Italian brand and Italians have usually a lot of honor and respect. I wonder whether there are other Ferrari fans who would love to see such a thing happen.

I don't know, I feel like we must Force Ferrari to do this ;). If many fans want this, maybe they will realize that it is indeed the least they can do.

Feel free to comment, thanks for reading and have a nice day!

It's a nice idea, and it might happen one day, but personally speaking, I think there is a Ferrari driver who is even more worthy of a tribute car than Schumacher!

This driver has dedicated the vast majority of his life to Ferrari, and has probably been the most influential driver that the the company has ever had.

This driver has never sought any limelight, fame or celebrity status for driving for Ferrari.

He has never needed the World to acknowledge him as being the best driver in the World.

He has never demanded or requested $30Million+ per year contracts to drive for Ferrari.

In all of his time with Ferrari, he has never caused any controversy or embarrassment to the company, in fact he has pretty much been a perfect, dedicated employee who has simply got on with his job, and loved just about every minute of it.

Unlike Schumacher, the vast majority of people have no idea who this man is, but to the Ferrari faithful he is a Ferrari Legend!

So who is this Legend?: Dario Benuzzi!

Before we have the "Ferrari F5 Schumacher", I would like to see the "Ferrari Benuzzi" made.

If Ferrari did make a tribute car for Benuzzi though, they had better make sure that it's performance, and more importantly, it's handling, are absolutely superb, and worthy of the great man's name!

The ultimate job, driving a Ferrari for 4-6 hours a day, does not get any better than that.
Yes I had to google him.

I like the idea but the car should be very special not a marketing exercise incase of Lamborghini's attempt and whilst they are at it they should name the next V12 GT Lightweight "Montezemolo" in respect to the man who got Ferrari as a strong business it is today.

If Ferrari ever makes an SUV, Montezemolo would be a perfect name for it.

One should NEVER name a product/project after a LIVING Person.

    Not wise.

    Extremely right.

Lamborghini has honoured Valentino Balboni and Ferrari did the same with, for instance, Carrozzeria Scaglieti. When Schumacher passes away, I think it would be a fitting tribute. I would also like to see Luca di Montezemolo honoured in some way.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

    Can't agree.

In the case of Dario Benuzzi, I think naming a model after him whilst he is still alive to know about it would be a wonderful way for the company to publicly thank him for all his years of dedicated service, and I suspect he would be immensely proud and honoured to see Ferrari honour him that way.

Naming a model after him once he is no longer alive would demonstrate their thanks for his services to the rest of the World, but the great man himself would never know about it!

With Michael Schumacher it's a bit more complicated due to his current condition.

If he is able to understand what is going on around him, and to appreciate the gesture of thanks that Ferrari would be paying him then I don't think it would be a problem.

If he is unable to understand what is going on around him, and to appreciate the gesture of thanks that Ferrari would be paying him then I think it could be seen as being a bit disrespectful, as though Ferrari were treating him as though he was dead already.

If Ferrari were to consider a Schumacher tribute car, I'm sure they would contact Corinna Schumacher first to make sure that no offence could be caused.

If they do use Michael's name for some special edition while he's still alive, I think they should do it in very limited numbers with proceeds going to a charity of the family's choice.

Given his health condition and how it happened and all the press bothering their family, I think making extra money (that wouldn't go to charity) that way at the moment for the company wouldn't be right. If it's well long after he's gone, then yes I think it would be a little more acceptable.

A bit off topic BUT I'll post it anyway;)

It seems that Benuzzi has more time behind the wheel than any of Ferrari's F1 drivers, so my question is, Why didn't he get a bump up to F1?

Surely he would have accepted the position...it would have made him a very wealthy man and famous as well.

    What are your thoughts?

Actually only 5 will be made. An FF, an F12, a 488 GTB, a 488 Spider and a Cali T.

There are 70 different variations over 5 cars, not the other way around.

There's a big difference between doing a few laps around Fiorano each week in an F1 car, and flying all around the World to race a full F1 season.

Benuzzi's F1 job was also about giving technical, engineering and driving feedback - Not setting blisteringly fast lap times.

As for the wealth and fame - Unlike many people, I think he simply didn't want it!

I get the impression Dario Benuzzi knew he wasn't an F1 driver, and, as far as he was concerned, being a test driver for Ferrari (and eventually their chief test driver), was the best job in the World - Even better than being an F1 star.

The guy is just pure class and a genuine Ferrari Legend!

Frankly, I find it a little bit sad that so few people seem to know who he is, and what he has done for Ferrari over the years.

As I've already posted, a tribute car would be a fantastic way to tell the World who he is and thank him for all he's done for Ferrari (Probably more than any other driver who has had anything to do with the company - and I'm including Michael Schumacher in that statement!)
