Does anyone know how much the '91 Testarossa went for at Russo and Steele this weekend?

Wow, that's a lot for a 308, I don't care WHOSE butt sat in it (well wait, Christie Brinkly drove a 308 in Vacation). But here's something to think about... Magnum ran from 1980-1988, Miami Vice ran from 1984-1990... Could really big values for TRs be less than 4 years away, considering the differences in the ages of the kids who watched the shows and the difference in the years the shows started?

The 1986 'single mirror' Miami Vice TR sold for only $138K. If a TR with that provenance (probably one of the most famous TR's ever ??) sells for that low of number.....then the TR market must really in bad shape.

Ok, I'm a little confused. Didn't this car show up at Pebble Beach last year and refused a 400k+ bid? I know they they were asking a crazy 1.5m on fchat a couple of years ago.

So, why would they let it be sold for 138k now?

Man this guy who owned this car sure was a fool.

So the High bid went from 5-600k all the way down to 138 over the span of about a year. I said it last summer when it hit that crazy price, and I'll say it again now. That guy was a FOOL for not selling last summer!

Well, I haven't seen the 1991 Testarossa sale, but if its a nice car, the pirce is very attractive. In looking for my car I looked at maybe 20 cars in all and saw 2-3 that were priced right at $100-110,000. However, they all had little problems. As an example, one had a fueling issue that caused the engine to hunt at idle. It could be fixed, of course, but little things like that can point to other things and even if they don't, it costs to get these things fixed.

Testarossa values will climb steadily over time. The Testarossa is the last purely analogue v12. No nannies. No power seats or power steering. Not even ABS. It's the last Old School v12. And, it's drop dead gorgeous in a way none of the newer Ferrari's are. The three curved lines that meet over the top of the rear fender arches are uniquely beautiful. The top line of the silhouette of the Countach, for instance, makes a similar design statement. Very, very few cars possess design characteristics -- character -- like the Testarossa does.

IAG knows the mkt cold, one of our sponsors.

Just got a nice TR in for sale @ 85k. Needs a major 3k miles, described as nice driver.

That's a good indicator, please don't quote dealers asks that bought high 6 months ago.

How long will that black TR take to sell - its listed all over the place and with the wholesale dealer network - so every high end dealer knows it available. How long will it take to sell??

IAG has sold a lot of these in the last few months - and almost all around $100k. Buyers should know you are going to be putting close to another $20k in with a service, tires, etc.

Well, they were a quarter-century old dampers. Assemblies whose dynamic performance depend upon seal and valve performance can degrade based off of time and non-use as well as mileage. ;)
