Very reasonable for a carb GTB even if it's LHD.

Looks like a dog to me, plus no mention of mileage, so it must be high. Interior major sun damage and seats retrimmed recently. Wrong wheels, belts, steering wheel.

Something horrible going on with the paint, look at the nose.

I am looking at a long term resto project as long as it has good history and all of the major original items are there I would be happy. I don't play Golf so I am planning to keep busy in my retirement so I don't drive my other half crazy. I will call them and find out.

"just came out of storage" probably goes a long way to explaining the paint on the nose... :(

Good idea to take on a project, but I suggest not that one. Plenty of others out there, and time is on your side. Patience, young Skywalker!

Excellent Idea!! a blokes got to have a post retirement interest. But you need more than one project! I started my project before I retired now just need the space to continue. My other projects include designing and building a 8X16 "Barnesk" Shed Timber doors and windows rather than roller doors. and hopefully getting the getting the house garage doubled in size to 14X8 that's if the council will let me!

Well, you've gotten him away from Moretti - that usually fixes most problems (that poor car) :D

You are right!! I still haven't got to the major on the 355 yet because I have been so busy converting one of the 1840s barns we have on the property for one of the kids to live in. So plenty to get on with at the moment.

No Pap it's been sitting in the garage waiting for me to find some time to start pulling it apart. It just gets started every week. I now have most of the bits I need from my trips to the UK. The only thing I need now is the HE thrust bearing and the flange ( my car has the early smaller shaft ). The thing that is really holding me up besides renovating the barn for the kids is the headers. I can buy Fabspeed headers for $2700 USD but they are 4-1. I have spoken to Zak at GP Headers in the states who does the 4-2-1 OEM setup. Zak has done a few 355s but has said that each one has been different so he is not confident that his jig will be one size fits all. So I am waiting for him to get back to me. I have been really enjoying the 308. I will do a separate post on that car to see if I can track its history prior to 1992. It's the ex Peter Harding car who was one of our members that was killed in a microlight accident in York WA in 2009.
