Now I've got the Elise and a 997, next on the list is a 2.2 or 2.4 911T (or E).

Talkin' about Porkers,my next door neighbour just offloaded his 1989 version of this,in BLACK...NOT THIS CAR,to a dealer down south.
It was traded on a new black V8 Mustang,here.
He got rid of it for $75K.

IT HAS A TIPTRONIC PROBLEM...BE AWARE IF YOU OR YOU FRIENDS ARE IN THE MARKET FOR ONE.

It had personal plates up here so it will have new plates on it or will be sold with new regoplates.

Unlikely on mine, hopefully.

Mine has the bigger factory 'update" bearing which came out in 2005. My Porsche mechanics have never seen one fail in those cars with that bigger bearing, however have repaired in excess of 20 in 996s and a handful of early 997s which share the same "older" bearing.

Of course, one can be unlucky. 997S's like mine are more prone to bore score. Apparently!

We also have a 2005 Boxster, no issues to date.

Best to drive the thing, be aware of the potential problems, be thorough and vigilant on the oil changes and servicing, run a magnetic sump plug............................














....... and hope for the best.
