https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRKw0wD_TuM Of course this was back in the day when there would be a race no matter what..this was Gilles first win at f. atlantic in 75....he was driving a piece of crap against all the other well funded teams but in those conditions the others didn't stand a chance...
The one moment when the one driver beached his boat was concerning. I agree that only treacherous condition permit one aspect of driver skill to shine. I wish we had this kind of stuff more.
Maybe that's the answer? Rather than sand or gravel traps, we should just put lakes on the outside of all the corners?
Gilles was a bad ass. Then there is the classic drive by Senna as well in the POS Toleman in 84 at Monaco. He only didn't win because they ended it early for Prost and McLaren. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxYX2RZ4Ei8[/ame]
Very true! Although passing in Monaco is a *****! That's why I linked the full version vs. the Senna-documentary-revised history version : ) Bellof was also a bad ass. Too crazy though...somewhat like Gilles IMHO.
Ok. But he still scored more points in that race than anyone else...if you're somehow implying that he didn't want the race to be stopped when it was clear that Senna and Bellof would devour him.
