Canadian cars had USA VINs, they were basically US specification with some minor differences.

I think an English translation error occurred when "Lilac" was named, since it was a deep dark purple, not lilac in nature. In markets outside of the U.S., the color was called "Royal Purple" and is richer than "Aubergine", which was also offered at the same time and is a darker, more eggplant (naturally ;) color. There was no "light purple" Porsche color for the 3.0-liter Turbos.

Yes, sorry my mistake! It would have been paint-to-sample in 1977, but in 1975 Royal Purple was standard. I was looking at the wrong chart when I replied!

The large dial is to turn the autoheat on and off. It works in conjunction with the other lever which opens the flapper door. The red throttle lever is for the manual choke.

My car is almost done with the refresh, a bunch of engine work and some interior refresh,
does anyone know what the correct floor mats would've been from the period..... The guy doing it said that Coco mats were popular but not sure if there is something that would've been a more factory looking option

My 1977 930 (US) came with black kind of a short fur type of carpet mats front and rear. Since I was the second owner with 1,900 miles on the clock in 1979 when purchased, I am pretty sure these were the factory correct mats. Coco mats were after market mats for cars that came with rubber mats. I added those after market mats to some of my earlier 911 that didn't come with carpet mats from the factory.

    Rich,

Do you know what year or years the grey basket weave bags were correct. I think my early 76 has one as well.

3-liter Turbos should have the gray basket weave bags.

Very nice that you where able to find a nos set.
Never have seen those for sale.
Could it be posssiblle that the early 75 build nrs would have a black basketwave pouch?
I have seen 2 early nrs that had the black one.

Some very late 1977 Turbos had black basketweave bags (different in style from the early black basketweave) like those found in SCs. And some very early are thought to have been delivered with black basketweaves. I think it was whatever they grabbed out of the parts bin when the car was prepared for delivery, which means it might not always be consistent.

Wonderful condition, no rust or fade. Seems like you got everything together including the European compressor. #366 Feb '77 build, has exactly this style, Grey basketweave..You have two equipment bags, one for the tool kit and one for the gloves etc., is that correct?

I think so...a parts bag for the tool kit and one for the gloves and plastic tire bags.
