Wondered what was wrong with you... Amberley F-111 maintenance workers could face heightened cancer risk, report reveals - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
You know, before the internet turned up I went down to the deseal/reseal hangar and wrote down the names of the chemicals inside the 44 gallon drums they were using to deseal the sealant inside the tanks and then went to the library and read up on the chemicals being used. Most of them were listed as carcinogenic and when I went back to the base and told the framies who were roped into doing it they had know eye dear what I was talking about (well they were framies ) but some of them were friends and I warned them that it meant the chemicals were possible cancer causing and no additional payment for working with them would cover my death !! Anyway, a few of them are dead now and that is truly sad because they leave behind families and wives and friends (I buried 2 this year, one cancer the other muscular dystrophy (?) ) I heard on the radio today that the govt has disputed the claims of those suffering from exposure to those horrible chemicals , just like they disputed the claims from the navy boys on the Voyager (for those that can remember the HMAS Melbourne slicing through it)
That sucks. Exposed to those awful chemicals AND they had to work with you... I'll send you an autographed copy if you like, once my wheels arrive...
