The best answer to the above discussion would be IMHO: "Anyone had a look at recent stock value of Ferrari?" Case closed!
when 650s was unveiled in 2014 it was not meant to be the successor of 12c, then mclaren suddenly positioned itself as the 12c's successor. but now this, p14 or whatever. what is this thing actually.. 650s' successor? only after 2 years? i think it's the Impatient arab investors. atleast ferrari maintains a certain product cycle.
All a little off topic, mea culpa, but for me, I will only buy V12, it is just something that connects deeply for some reason since I was a young kid and heard my first Ferrari. It doesn't alter the fact that Ferrari used to have an open goal and that now the market is becoming much more competitive, especially for new buyers, and they are having their feet held to the fire. I'm not going anywhere, but I'm not really the market so much any more. Cannot wait to have my tdf at 8,900 in a months time.
How is McLaren not being fair? I love Ferrari - I own one and will buy more, but I have a hard time understanding that comment. Also, what's wrong with car companies trying to 'humiliate' each other by trying to be the best?
Agree and TDF is just awesome over the F12M because of its light weight and special edition will always be special. Only I had bought when when £350K ish. Hindsight a wonderful thing. Had all the light weight V8's but something special after going in my tessa decided V12 modern version was the way foward.
Couldn't agree more but in fact many of these new buyers are not anymore in the USA and in Europe and their sports car culture is different. Congratulations for your TDF I can imagine your anxiety but I'm certain i will be highly compensated by the great sensations and moments you will have.
I think once the next gen cars come out post 2019 you may see electric motors on the front wheels like 918 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If the next generation cars had a kind of rear-biased all wheel drive system, possibly one could get on dry roads the sort of feel we know and like so much on the rear traction Ferraris as well as the surplus traction once on wet or nastier surfaces.
It seems that you're now famous. Congratulations. Crazy Rumor Says the Ferrari F12's Successor Will Get an 800-HP Naturally Aspirated V12
It seems not even R&T is beyond some amount of blind cut & paste. Clearly the torque figure of 718 is in N m not lb ft which is approx 75% of that number. May be the source of earlier talk of "massive torque increase"
It really makes you wonder about the press. I am looking forward to the official reveal. Very exciting, its getting closer now. A new Ferrari is always a special event. I can easily remember exactly where I was when they revealed the F12berlinetta.
If you've been following along, that picture does not leave a whole lot to the imagination IMO. Air intakes aside the very revealed LED lights are taped over and there's that divider in the front grill again hidden behind the mesh. I don't see any gauche flaps up front so not a bad front end. Toss-up with the F12B though but its early.
Any current F12 owners thinking of switching to the new one ? The in-house designs TDF + GTC4Lusso aren't doing much for me. I'll wait till they reveal it in Geneva and then get in touch with my dealer for a test drive and decide if it's worth the trade in or not. They keep on saying it's the last N/a and the next thing you know, Porsche continues to offer N/a engine in the next GT3 + manual Lamborghini won't kill the V12 as of yet, but the outdated transmission and awd are not on my priority list in such cars.
How much actually Pininfarina has influenced F12 design? If you look at the F12 development sketches 80% comes from the boys of the Centro Stile. I find Ferrari of the last 6-7 years have much more character. I find them better resolved.
I read interviews given by Ferrari chief designer Flavio Manzoni about the F12 design there isn't a single reference to the designer collaboration with Pininfarina. May be that's the artist posture wanting to have all the credits for himself but personally, I see on the F12 lines and nuances the Pininfarina hand and there is also a badge to remember us of that.
Why should Manzoni reference PF? First, Manzoni's job is take Ferrari forward, in a world very different from anything that's gone before. Second, the PF we admire has long gone. Third, Manzoni is a very talented designer who is evidently (from his social media output) deeply passionate about Ferrari, Ferrari's history and cars generally.
Very unlikely; this is not the Ferrari way. Even in the FF/Lusso they apologetically integrated a pseudo-AWD system and haven't mentioned it ever since.
Obviously Manzoni should have referenced PF for the very simple reason that Ferrari mentions that the F12 was designed in collaboration and to confirm it the car wears on each side the Pininfarina badges.
You had better make your mind up quickly as I hear that the entire production run is just about sold out. UK for sure is sold out.
ferrari's divorce with pininfarina is beneficial for both of them.. pininfarina's new owner Mahindra wants to position pininfarina as a low volume car brand with focus on green technology. their 2017 venture Fittipaldi to create supercar with Pininfarina and HWA
