Yeh, I was able to put a deposit down a couple months ago. Still waiting for my 488 for that matter, so looks like I'll be selling the 488 once the f12m comes along. TBH, a standard f12 would be fine too. ;P

An interesting mix of angles and curves. Still not sure the purpose of the rear vents. The wells can be internally vented so maybe there is a downforce effect. Good job!

Your other post finding Waldo is a great catch. If it is the real deal you are definitely the first.

Yes I have put a deposit down and due to my looong relationship, hopefully anticipate an early car. Are you UK based?

Love the skill to do that 'real quick'! Thank you Ingeniere. I'm still confused by the rear, especially that mini flying buttress behind the rear quarterlight.

But let's face it, it really is an F12 in a shorter skirt!

Congratulations excellent drawing and vision. I was comparing your vision of the F12 M with the photo below of the F12 and you don't have to be a talented observer to spot the differences straight away however the character of the original car is there.

looks between a cal-t and lusso, the rear.
The tdf is the ultimate for me...

TDF has a boxy rear and all sorts of aero gimicks sticking out everywhere making it quite ugly.

I want aero but I really don't want to see it since its never visually appealing.

Yes there seems to be a big difference in approach between pininfarina and the new design house.

The GTC4lusso is a huge improvement in looks over the FF.

If the F12M is wow over the F12B then I'll be switching but if it looks like the photos above I'll pass.

I realize that in my haste to complete the drawing in the little time I had I didn't really do a good job of resolving the shapes on the rendering.

At the rear, for example, I don't believe the horizontal crease running below the license tag will just disappear under the vertical trailing edge at the flank. Ferrari Design tend to be very creative with cleaning up cut-outs and such. Maybe it'll be more like the vent on the 599 GTO. Why did I draw it like that then? Because I couldn't erase it, ha-ha.

As for the scoop and exit (the slit at the rear of the fender looks too big and wholly inelegant as drawn) on the rear quarter, based on pics and clarification (muddying up?) from the Ferrari graphic, I expect that area will be effectively (as you've been predicting) a flying buttress, with maybe the air channeled through it used to draw, venturi-like, the pressure built up in the rear wheel well, where this was bled to atmosphere on the tdf via the 3 vents. Just my 2 cents.

LOL. What? I for one don't give a **** about "respect" when it comes to consumer products. Give me the best product money can buy, end of story. I don't want less than what my money can buy. If McLaren can turn out cars quicker and better, that's fine by me. If AM or Mercedes can produce a $3M halo car with LMP performance, that's fine by me. I'm the one writing the check and all I care about is that I'm happy with the product I receive.

And FYI, you'll find that some of the biggest Ferrari collectors on this forum and owners of the most desirable models also have a **** ton of other cars in their garages, including McLaren, Mercedes, AM, Lamborghini, Porsche etc. They don't seem to care one way or another when it comes to writing a check and getting what they like.

    Don't confuse FerrariChat with IOnlyBuyFerrarisChat.

Personally I quite like the F12B rear and in particular the way the diffuser is implanted. For the moment we don't know how the F12 M really looks therefore any comparison is pure speculation. I reserve my final opinion about the rear and the overall design for after the first F12M pictures are shown.

I have been promised the first car but nervous re glitches (eg GTC infotainment awful as usual) and fewer potions available for early cars - thoughts ?

I totally agree. I never like to be the first. Aside from glitches, it seems more options tend to open up a little later. I specifically do not want the first car, not that I would get it with the celebrity names at my dealership, and if I were you I would want one some 6-9 months after the first RHD car landed. That's my aim.

Also gives you the chance to see how the new design works in different colours and spec combinations before you commit.

I'm with you on that - I'm down for the first in the market I'm in but I don't think it's going to work time wise with Tailor Made - so will be happy with a 2018 car I think - just want to get the exact spec I want.

F12B and tdf are awesome and truly innovative cars in terms of 'there is nothing like it' and the evolution from the 599 was anything you ever dreamed of and so much more.

Now anticipation for the M has build up in almost two thousand! post.

For me it is absolutely unimagineable how a 'mid-level' could ever live up to this expectation and excitement.

An 8% increase in hp (or an unnoticeable +20hp over tdf) is for sure not enough and for most power is not the bottleneck of the F12.
Some for shift times on the already lightning fast gearbox. No bottleneck either.
    Design - tough call.

    What are bottlenecks if any?
Weight - probably no progress with the M.
Outer dimensions - probably M wont be a couple of inches shorter and narrower.

For track usage the wider front tires will be worth a lot, if the 4WS does not upset handling.
4pt harness we will probably also not see on the M.

SSC 5 is a nice value add for most, but nothing really new or wow.

With changing economics it will be interesting to see how the markets for the M will develop.

The current f12 has an awful rear.
Tdf looks like a stupid and tasteless mansory tuning or smth...
    The M will be beautiful.

Totally agree. I cannot recall a single modern Ferrari with the exception of the F40 where the early cars have been more desirable from a long term ownership perspective - options, glitches, in-production upgrades etc.

Of course, for some, the bragging rights and/or the potential to flip would be sufficient incentive to get the early allocations.
