Is there some special trick to remove the hood hinges?

Mine pins won't budge so I'm thinking they are just fused/rusted in the hinge. I've removed the spring clip and tried to tap them out but nada.

    Any ideas?

I realise this was three years ago, but did you ever get them out?

I've tried everything including heating the outside of the hinge, not budging. Any tips greatly appreciated. I wondered if they had been bonded in at the factory as well as clipped in.

Did you try with the hood still bolted in place? There is a small leverage action on the pins when the hood is bolted and lifted. Try to remove the hood to loosen the pin a bit. Then rock the hinge while hitting the pin.

I know I got them off but frankly it's been so long I don't remember how. I'll take a look today when I go to my shop to see.

I know I was planning on replacing them with custom billet ones ala Singer 911 style so part of me thinks I might have removed them entirely.

    Let me check...

Yes I am trying to do it with the hood removed, but I will try tapping while moving the hinge up and down.

    Thank you.

Ok thanks, well it'd be good to know if you got the pins out. There's only so long you can try before giving up. They must have rusted into the hole.
