Just arrived yesterday from McKinley Leather. I wanted to create something nicer than the standard Staples binders to retain the documented history of my 348, along with significant projects (2016 Major Service), and after quite a bit of poking around, came across McKinley, who has done similar projects for Ferrari owners.

I put together the artwork and layout for the 4 binders (3 volumes of historic maint/receipts, and 1 for the 2016 major service documentation) in English Bridle leather. It came out great, and is an excellent match to the leather tool kit and owner's booklet. Only one of the volumes is filled with the car's history, so plenty of room to go into the car's future.

    Thanks, guys. :)

They'll do whatever you want for customization/personalization. Either put together the artwork files yourself, or have them assist, and then they'll take it from there for the tooling and application to leather to your specs. Derek is great in that respect, as we went through a couple of mock-ups for placement and proportioning, and then once tooling was done, tested out various stamping options from the blind deboss to various foil backed details. There was a gentleman on one of the other forums or perhaps even here that had a nice one done for his F355 a few years back, easy to find if you google mckinley leather and ferrari.

Well, it was a bit on the indulgent side as far as a binder goes. However, I rationalized it in the sense that it was my contribution in the chain of owners as a piece of the car's legacy that will last and be used/referenced for decades to come. The heavyweight bridle leather (thick and robust, but a beautiful buttery feel), and then up-front tooling costs (5 dies total, one for each lower text blocks, and then one die containing the model/sn and cavallino artwork together) added to the total a bit, but tooling is a 1-time cost and is retained in the event that a binder needs to be re-made or I order additional volumes for other projects that share artwork. The website does a great job of breaking down pricing options and project possibilities if you're interested. If you want to know the specific for this project, shoot me a message, and I'm happy to give my specific breakdown and totals.

Christof, is that the folder that all of your original sales documents, owners pouch, etc were transferred in from the dealership when first purchased, or something else?
