Firstly, thank you to all who would help chime in.
My CS is a little underused as it has about 9k km so far and it was not used in the last 4-5 months as i broke my metatarsal. battery went completely flat. tried charging it but it got completely kaput. so got a new battery.

The the CEL had come on, i resetted the ECU but it kept coming on after a few km of driving each time. I have not pulled the codes as I dont have a SD3 reader.
Upon a cold start, the petrol smell is very very strong.
It idles very very rough during cold starts and becomes better as the engine warms up.

Is this a throttle body or MAF related issue? How do i go about cleaning the Throttle body? As a third option, could it be an O2 sensor related matter ( I really don't think the O2 sensor plays a part during the cold start but i stand corrected)

    Thank you.

Do you think it could just be the gas has gone foul? Your performance symptoms sound just like my Mustang's in which the gas went bad from sitting too long without a fresh topping off.

I hope your foot is healing up nicely.

That's what I would do, dump the fuel first see how that works for u and get itself OBD reader. Gud Luk
